Game 113: Reds vs Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds, Aug 4, 2008 7:10 PM EDT

Remember the slight air of hope that you may have felt prior to the Rockies series? Yeah, me neither. I don't know what to say at this point. I still watch off and on, but honestly I watched Wipeout on Saturday night instead of the game. Wipeout?!?!

Hopefully they can do something to make the rest of this season interesting, but with the way they've been playing lately, I don't have a lot of hope. Maybe Joey Votto is just getting ready to give us a Player of the Month performance for August? Something like that could get him the Rookie of the Year award too. Well that's what I'm rooting for then! Help us, Joey-wan-Kenobi, you're our only hope!

Someone should tabulate the "First" records so far this season.
We need a proven veteran “first” poster to get out of this slump.

So a) we’ll have a chance of winning, and b) this game thread might exceed 200 comments. But c’mon people, I’m only one man.

Who did this lineup? Why is there a first baseman in the two-hole, when there’s a perfectly good CFer available?

whether I should be happy about EdE batting third, or mad that Dunn’s still batting 5th. Hm.

Well it is bowling night, maybe they'll have the game on at the lanes:
With this batting order we’ll probably have Australian Football. Boy is Dusty OTL. I read that he likes batting Dunn 5th because he’s always batted 5th even in the minors. therefore he a #5 kind of guy.

i think this sums it up quite nicely
“The third man, a 34-year-old Joliet resident, was not charged with a felony because he did not reach the victim until after the initial beating had taken place. Milwaukee police cited him for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor assault after he allegedly punched his sister in the mouth as she tried to intervene in the fight, police said.”
punched his own sister in the mouth. i bet alot of Cubs fans can relate to that.

Skip Caray’s death really saddened me. I heard him in NC all the time with the Braves blanketing the state and he had Marty’s sarcastic attitude without being a dick about it.

From what little I heard from Skip, he seemed like one of the good ones. He was a homer but not obnoxious about it.

I saw this over on Brew Crew Ball
.414 BA
.485 OBP
.931 SLG
1.416 OPS
That’s Edwin’s line against the Brewers this year. So, good thing he’s batting third. And Bill Hall is not in the starting lineup. We might have a chance!

Corey Hart had a hit single (before your time)
Braun scored. He and Fielder had been walked on eight straight balls. Then Craig Counsell scrappily grounded out to first.
Bronson’s at 111 pitches, and I would say he’s done. Pretty nice outing from Goodroyo today.
