met a Londoner with an accent as thick as marmite last night who was an advance scout for the Marlins for about 6 years. It’s a surprising world we live in.
Except where the Reds are concerned. Dunn still can’t break the top 4 of the lineup?

At least Bruce has homers in his last two games
Dunn has actually been pretty quiet in this series so far.

I smelled marmite once. Once.
That was all I need to know. There’s just no way to describe it.
But I like a lot of English food. I’m a sucker for shepherd’s pie and fish ‘n’ chips. And rasher bacon. And beans on toast. And bangers ‘n’ mash. And sausage rolls. I just flew back from the UK about a month ago. My arms are still tired.
Phone's ringing, Dude.

I always like to come home and read what the Red Reporters had to say about the game I just saw
But it turns out, it’s not a lot.

Over.
I’ll be here for about half the game, and Sunday day games are always more lively than Friday/Saturday night games.

I’ll take over as well.. I mean it’s been at least 80 games since I’ve posted in a game thread. Don’t expect me here too long though. Race starts at 2:30..

This week?
In Fantasy Nascar? Unfortunately Jimmy Johnson this week. I really dislike him but he’s on the pole and I think it’s his time to get hot. (That doesn’t sound right out of context…)
I’m a TS fan and really all of JGR. Really becoming a RedBull fan.. I’m one of the few who LIKE Toyota..
I have DirecTV Speed Pass and you can’t DVR the driver channels easily. I usually skip to the drivers audio during commercials and they do side by side, so that is worth the $100 / year in my opinion.
(And if this discussion keeps up, we’ll go over for sure…. unless we chase everyone else away..)

Third time's the charm, right?
I’m off to the game. I’m wearing my Liverpool jersey, since it’s the closest thing to “Reds” gear that I own. I’ll be drowning my sorrows in Ben’s Chili Bowl Half Smokes.
Reds! Reds! Reds!
(I passed up a DC United victory and their first shutout of the season last night to watch the blowpen do its thing. You owe me now, Reds.)

reds have a player only meeting and lineup per fay ...
The Reds had a players-only meeting before Sunday’s game.“It’s OK with me as long as they ask permission, which they did,” Dusty Baker said.
Baker met with the team Friday.
“I think we overmeet as a society,’ he said. “You can talk, but you’ve got to follow through.”
Baker wouldn’t say who called the meeting, saying only it was more than one player. David Weathers was one.
“We’ve got so many young guys,” Baker said. “They’ve got to hear it from a player sometimes.”
Lineup:
Jeff Keppinger ss
Joey Votto 1b
jay Bruce rf
Brandon Phillips 2b
Adam Dunn lf
Edwin Encarnacion 3
Corey Patterson cf
David Ross c
Jonny Cueto p

I don't understand why
the players need his permission to have a meeting. It is only of concern to them…nothing to do with the manager.

Pretty much.
He’s a .282 hitter in July for his career. .227 and .222 for August and September, respectively.

So, we don’t have anyone at any level who can catch fly balls and hit better than .189? Come on.
Where have you gone, Johnny Vander Meer?

I never understand how people get picked off of second.
Given that someone has to run to the bag to catch the pickoff throw, why don’t runners pay more attention to where the 2B and SS are? Clearly, you shouldn’t let them get closer to the bag than you are.
But maybe BP was just trying to steal or something.
