Junior's spot in the lineup

Well, it looks like Ozzie doesn't have as much respect for Junior as Dusty does -- he batted 7th last night, and 2nd today. The Veteran Presence who fills the 3-spot: near-rookie Carlos Quentin. Of course, CQ has about 140 points of OPS on Jr...

Of course, my WhiteSox-fan friends are irate that they are actually playing him in CF.

Which leads to a larger question: is the fanbase of any team in baseball generally satisfied with their manager? It seems like most of the other SBNation blogs generally think their managers are idiots. Maybe it's less a function of the manager, and more a function of the nature of the job.

Or, maybe its just that idiot managers who play the book, know how to win, and inspire veteranicity are the only ones who get hired.

JoePos has wondered if anyone were satisfied with their managers. His theory was that Ron Gardenhire was a great manager since no one can figure out why the Twins keep winning. Then Twins fans emailed him all the examples of how much Gardenhire sucks and it reinforced his idea that everyone just hates their manager. I don’t have a link, but it’s played out over the past few months and we’re all reading Posnanski anyways, right?
