my personal preference is for Lux,
I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor – heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand… YECCHH!

Um... This is a quite depressing tidbit from Mark Sheldon's mailbag
The Reds will have money to spend if they want to raise their payroll. In terms of 2009, the combined $25 million for Griffey and Dunn will be off the books, but it doesn’t mean the payroll is shrinking or there is an influx of fresh cash to spend. Closer Francisco Cordero will go from $8.5 million to $12 million. Aaron Harang goes from $6.75 to $11 million. Alex Gonzalez goes from $4.6 to $5.375 million. Bronson Arroyo moves from nearly $6.5 to $9.5 million. Brandon Phillips increases from $2.75 to $4.75 million and Ryan Freel ups from $3 to $4 million.
That’s six players that will make a combined $46.625 million
Politickin' in God's Country
Regardless we're fucked with these retarded contracts
But hey, look at the positives! Harang’s 3-13 season this year is only 2.25 million per win, next year it would be almost 4 million a win!

He’s a slow catcher, he should not have been playing that half way down the line on the bunt. He should never have made it.

How can such a good looking man be so bad at getting to first base?
Keppinger
That was NOT a swing on strike three to Kepp. Fukodome had a bigger swing than that in the previous inning on a pitch that was called a ball, and he actually RAN through the strikezone with the bat straight out.
I also feel like the Reds are getting squeezed a bit
but I am not sure I’m looking beyond my bias.

AND STOP SWINGING AT THE FIRST PITCH!!!!!!!
STOP LISTENING TO YOUR IDIOT COACHES!!!!!!
Seven innings, 10 Ks, and only 94 pitches for Harden
Rich Harden has no business being that efficient. This only shows that pitch counts often have more to do with the batters than it has to do with the guy on the mound.

Ok, upon seeing the replay
Keppinger is just as at fault for the run scoring than EdE is. He was standing over by 2nd for some reason, instead of covering 3rd when EdE charged the bunt.
"My wife ain't never ran and got me no pheasant." - Fistbands
when you're running into field a bunt
you’re listening to your catcher to quarterback the play. I’m not sure what Bako was yelling, but he pointed at 1b.
It will be interesting to hear about this post-game, if the press even bothers to ask about such things anymore.

Naturally, EdE is blamed
The lone run to score against Cueto was preventable. With one out, Harden dropped a safety squeeze bunt to third baseman Edwin Encarnacion. Not appearing to have an eye on Geovany Soto at third base, Encarnacion threw to first base for the out. Soto, who kept even with Encarnacion and drifted down the line, broke for home on the throw. He scored ahead of Joey Votto’s desperation heave home, which got away for an error that moved Kosuke Fukudome to third base.
“I just told the whole infield to be aware of the safety squeeze,” Baker said. “That was a perfect situation for it. I don’t know if he heard me. That runner on third base is far more important than the one going down to first. You have to learn from it. Soto executed it perfectly. He went at the right time. Votto had no chance of throwing him out.”
Encarnacion maintained that he snuck a peek at Soto before throwing the ball.
“I looked behind my shoulder but he was frozen and didn’t move. I went to first,” Encarnacion said.
No mention of Bako. And Baker more or less blames Encarnacion for not heeding to his directions.
Similar comments from Erardi, who calls it “Baseball 101” to look the runner back. Honestly, I wasn’t aware that the catchers are supposed to direct traffic in these situations.
I was going on my high school ball experience
so it probably doesn’t mean much, but…
When we had a guy on first and third and a bunt came up the third base line that made it necessary for the third baseman to charge the ball, the catcher was supposed to tell him whether the runner on third was holding or whether he was down the line. This because the catcher has all the action in front of him and is in the best position to make the call. If the runner at third was holding or slow and the runner going to first was quick, you wouldn’t want to waste time with a look back.
I watched the play happen and one replay right afterwards and here were/are my thoughts:
1. Edwin did not look at the runner
2. Bako was pointing at 1b.
3. Soto was not even with Edwin but behind him
4. If Edwin had stopped his momentum and looked back at Soto, I doubt he has a chance to get the runner at 1b.
5. Soto had no reason to lean back towards 3b because Keppinger wasn’t there.
6. Votto’s throw was horrible, but Bako was in a bad position to try to make a tag on the runner anyway.
7. There would have been no runner on third if Corey Patterson hadn’t had a fly ball bounce off of his wrist.
8. Edwin is gone.
I may be wrong on these events events, but that’s what I thought I saw.

Nope, you're not wrong, that's exactly what happened.
Keppinger sucks at playing shortstop, Bako and his veteranness should have done a better job of leading the play, and Edwin should have looked at the runner. Just sucks that Edwin takes all the heat from everybody for it. He should start running out to his position and telling everyone how much of a baseball guy he is, just as a precautionary measure.
"My wife ain't never ran and got me no pheasant." - Fistbands
this was my assessment of the play as well
Bako was pointing EdE to 1B the whole way. i was taught that the catcher is in charge on plays like that as well. EdE did exactly what he was supposed to do, and he knows it and Bako sure as shit knows it. Baker doesnt have a clue of course and EdE gets the shaft from the media (and the fans) for it. drop another quarter in the swear jar.

But NBC focuses on the fact that Lolo Jones lost . . . because she’s hot and white. Shame on NBC. Harper is so excited, and she barely gets an interview on the track. That’s sad.
And she used to be poor, to boot
In defense of NBC, they usually focus on the American favorite, win or lose. But I probably didn’t need the 8th replay of Jones hitting that hurdle.
