Postgame thread
We won again, trimming our deficit in the Central to 21.5 games. I think there are more than that many games left in the season, so we're not out of this thing yet.
Use this space wisely. The Bats' game starts at 5, Dayton at 7. Also, Josh Hamilton's Texas Rangers play at 8. So there are a few things to talk about, if you find yourself in the thread with people that you have nothing in common with.

Some thoughts
Edinson Volquez is a beast.
EdE owns St. Louis.
The Reds are horrible base runners.
If you get to Lohse early, he’s beatable.
Why did we bring in CoCo?

Where you going to school A. ?
Have you thought about becoming a bankruptcy attorney? They make good money and rarely have to go into litigation.
Are you excited? Good luck…Mrs. M is the director of legal administration for a very good Downtown Cinti firm. If you need an in when it comes time to clerk…well I’ll prolly still be here…good luck and for Christ’s sake have fun.

Vermont Law
I’m into environmental law. I wanna sue corporations.
The one thing that might sway my interest is human rights law. Not to say I wouldn’t be grateful for a good internship anywhere.

Why no box score on the Bats website?
I guess I could just turn on the radio but that would require too much effort.

I forgot to ask the other day
are the Bats going to get a new beat writer? With all the cuts at the CJ I wonder if they will continue to have one.

Is anyone watching the game on ESPN?
They talked about the Reds for awhile.
In particular, they quoted what Dusty said about it being Krivsky’s team, not his. And wondered if anyone asked Krivsky what he thought about that.
They also said they saw Krivsky in Houston last week, scouting.

im surprised there hasnt been more of a reaction
to the “Krivsky’s team” business. what else did they say about it, or was that it?

That was about it
They were kind of laughing at Dusty for saying that.

Krivsky
Spoke with Alan Cutler (I think) the other morning and took the high road, saying “very unfortunate” about six times.

um, maroon?
I don’t think you meant that the way it came out, but a maroon is kinda/sorta a runaway slave. Warrants mentioning…not exactly a “nappy headed hos” comment, but it can REALLY get taken the wrong way (at least if you’re a history major).
Anyway, yeah, I was much happier this time last year about the Reds than I am now. At least we still have Volquez.

I knew Jason Lee was in that episode
but I just had a holy shit moment. That’s Wyatt Cenac from The Daily Show playing James Ingram. Awesome.
I’m more a hello man and a welcome man than a good-bye man. And to me Adam Dunn was more a person than a player.

hahahahaha
With six games each against the Cubs, Brewers and Cardinals, the NL Central’s primary contenders, the Reds will have a say in who wins the division title.
And with an abundance of youth on the roster, Cincinnati manager Dusty Baker feels the experience will be good for his club.
“It’ll be beneficial because we’re planning on being in that race next year,” Baker said. “Guys that have never been there don’t know what it’s like. We need to get a taste of it.”
