Jim Callis thinks Alonso will definitely sign by Friday. If he doesn't Callis says, he will lose all his leverage next year after his senior season. Another interesting nugget: If the Reds don't sign Alonso, they will get the No. 8 pick next year, but if they don't sign that pick, then they lose it. So we would then lose our leverage.
