Perhaps I'm just dreaming

but wouldn’t it be nice to see, when the rosters are expanded, Valaika come up and play some second while BP plays short?

I’m a fool.

If only

I could trust, if only I could feel this way.

Overserved and underwhelmed.

FWIW

Since he’s still only in Chattanooga, he doesn’t project to be all that good in the Majors just yet. His Minor League Equivalencies for this season (click mle) put him around .252/.296/.360 as a major leaguer.

Plus, since he’s not on the 40-man roster and doesn’t need to be for a couple of years, there is pretty much no chance he makes it up this year. And given his history of struggles as he adjusts to a new level, I’d say he’s not ready anyway.

All I’ve ever done was be Juan Pierre," he said. "I don’t know why, for some reason, they’re just sticking it to me this year."

Just saw this

FeLo got picked up by the Cards. If this works anything like the Kyle Lohse signing, then brilliant move for St. Louis!

wrong

the next correct answer in the chain is Ron Villone. We also would have accepted Juan Encarnacion.

I haven't been around this weekend...

which doesn’t seem like a bad thing. Had to visit the parents in the 216 and find out if folks I know in Georgia (country, not state) are still alive (they are). But did Joe Posnanski’s latest article get any interest from you all?

And those are just the big guys. I think, on a local level, every team has at least one player the fans are convinced drive in only meaningless runs. In Kansas City, for instance, people would say that CONSTANTLY about Mike Sweeney. They would say, "Oh, he only comes through when it doesn’t matter." And I used to think, "They’re the freaking Kansas City Royals. When DOES it matter?"

Reminds me of the hate for our good buddy Dunn. And yes, we’re fans of a last place team. It certainly does NOT matter anymore.

I’ll be around a bit more and playing catchup with y’all this upcoming week.

...because there's already someone posing as Jacob Brumfield

Somebody asked about Marcus McBeth a couple of days ago

Well he was DFAd when Rosales was added to the 40-man roster. He’s pretty much been shit this year.

Man

A McBeth/Ross package would be enticing in bizarro world.
