Reds just left the bases loaded. This is game 91, in the 4th inning, in case you were concerned that you were in an old game thread.

You mean this?

Things are good with me, I am getting ready to staff an international summer camp for 18 year old participants in Lyon (Please keep the “barely legal” jokes to a dull roar).
Glad you all kept me in mind on this thread, I enjoyed the pictures (and the comments) as I got the recap from a long night at Wrigley.

We’re still in it. Or, IF DUSTY PINCH HIT FOR HARANG WHEN WE HAD THE BASES LOADED LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE . . . Aaron wouldn’t have given up the 2-run homer to fontenot and we may have picked up a couple of runs with a pinch hit.

Well, the bullpen is in.
It should have started earlier than this, but the bleeding has stopped. Time to get some runs before chasing Dempster.
In the Erie, PA newspaper today
the sports reporter said he could put together an all-star team of players form both leagues who were left off the rosters, and beat either one of the named all-star teams.
He included BP and CoCo on “his” all-star team.

okay, so it looks like they are slightly more aggressive on the road
I’m missing some data and don’t feel like figuring out what is missing, but here is the breakdown I found:
first pitch swinging
Home – 28.8%
Road – 30.4%
At bat pitch count length
1-3 pitches:
Home: 45.3%
Road: 46.6%
4-6 pitches:
Home: 46.4%
Road: 45.7%
7-9 pitches
Home: 8.0%
Road: 7.4%
P/PA
Home: 3.80
Road: 3.77

Andy Phillips may have never been a true Yankee
but after that at bat no one can accuse him of not being a Red
I think Andy was always a true Yankee
He came up in the Yankees system. He was homegrown. Even more so than Bubba, who was only half homegrown.

You all will be happy to know
that DC United won their quarterfinal match in the US Open tonight. They played rival Chicago Fire, who have never lost to DC previously in an elimination game. The Fire took an early 1-0 lead, but United evened the score on a goal by Liberian international Francis Doe. Defender Bryan Namoff then netted the game-winner in extra time. It sounds like a very chippy affair, with six yellow cards and two straight reds (including one to the hated Cuauhtemoc Blanco.
United rolls on to the semifinals in their first serious bid for silverware this year.
See if I ever remind you to eat at Art of Pizza again!
I gotta follow a winning team somewhere. Plus it has the added appeal of beating a Chicago team.

Too bad that the Reds suck so badly.
What the f@#K is their problem. Can’t these guys figure it out. Hit the friggin’ baseball – BINGO – c0ome on you fuckwads – play ball or go home.

See the ball - hit the ball
1. Be patient – wait for your pitch
2. Keep your hands back – be in charge of your PA
3. Work the pitcher – make him work
4. Jay had it when he first came up but now is too impatient
5. No fucking bunting – unless absolutely necessary
6. Dunn mat strike out a lot but he works for his pitch.
7. Never let CoPhat PH again.
8. Sit Bako 90% of the time.
9. Don’t go up there and swing away early in the count because Dustbag says so.
10. remember don’t think so much watch the ball, see the ball and hit the ball where it is pitched.\
If they don’t hire me then any of these guys will do:
Well maybe not Johnny Bench – but Morgan, Perez and Rose sure knew how to handle an AB. God damn it any way -

eye witness report
i was in right field, kinda behind a poll in what were labled as “unobstructed” seats. Harang loooked terrible. I am not anything close to an expert on pitching mechanics but Harang looked like he was standing straight up when he pitched. He just didn’t look like he was bending down at all. I am guessing he was leaving everything up. I thought he was lucky in the first inning. I feel that the Reds should DL Harang, call up Belise, Maloney, Thompson, or Bailey to pitch on Sunday, the All star break would limit the number of times the fill in would be needed to start if Harang spends the minimum on the DL.
Did his mechanics look off to you?
I took a few pictures I may put them up if I ever figure out how.

it could have been my angle
i have actually haven’t seen Harang pitch much in person, so I may just be that i haven’t seen him pitching from the side. But he looked like he was standing straight up when he released the ball. His velocity looked ok, he hit 92 or 93 enough.

its about time, in my opinion. Stubbs’ numbers in Sarasota arent incredible, but it looks like he has taken some real strides in his game. walks are up, Ks are down. the power numbers arent there, but the FSL is bad for that anyway. i would love nothing more than to see this kid torch Chatty and end the season in Louisville, a-la The Next Big Thing, Jay “The Boss” Bruce Almighty last year. im still pissed about Lincecum, but i still believe Stubbs could be something.
