Farmers only: Neftali moves up, Livingston works out and the Bats go down 17 times

Question: What's more embarrassing than 17 strikeouts in a game?

Les Walrond
Walrond

Triple-A: A dude named Les Walrond struck out 17 Bats -- the most ever against Louisville -- in a 2-0 win for Lehigh Valley. Luis Bolivar was the victim of 4 Ks, Adam Rosales 3. It was a model of ineptitude by the Bats (Walrond is a 31-year-old journeyman who had 4 Ks in his last start), but it was still 5 short of an International League record. Still, 17 Ks? Do what Dusty would do: Lay down some bunts or swing at the first pitch.

Double-A: Sean Henry and Chris Valaika had big nights in Chattanooga's 11-9 win. Henry was 4 for 5 with 2 RBIs, raising his Southern League batting average to .320, and Valaika was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs. Ben Jukich (8-3) struck out 8 but gave up 7 runs into the 6th inning.

High A: Bobby Livingston allowed just 1 ER in 7 innings in his second start for Sarasota, a 5-2 win over Tampa. Livingston struck out 4 as he rehabs from
shoulder surgery.

Low A: Neftali Soto was 1 for 4 with a double in his first game since his promotion to Dayton. The Dragons lost 9-3, Logan Parker and Zach Cozart were 2 for 3 and Devin Mesoraco went 1 for 4... again.

Rookies: Billings won 5-4 as Tyler Stovall, Michael Konstanty, Tony Brown and Kyle Day had 2 hits apiece. ... Humberto Sosa was 2 for 4 in a 4-2 loss for the GCL Reds.

Does anyone know

when they are planning on moving Stubbs up a level? He seems to have leveled off at A isnt it time he moves up to AA? I would think they would move Cumberland up to AAA and then move Stubb up.

Hey, did you hear that Tim Lincecum is a strong candidate to start the All-Star Game?

Whenever I look at Lincecum’s stats, then at Drew Stubbs, I always feel like Tom Hanks at the bridge in “Saving Private Ryan.” “Earn… this.”

I always feel like Tom Hanks in Joe Verus the Volcano

“Why did I pick this script?”

I want a hamburger. No, a cheeseburger. I want a hot dog. I want a milkshake. I want potato chips...

I always feel like Tom Hanks in Dragnet

“Well, looks like it’s just you and me and your balls in this drawer.”

He's doing it. He's eating a tire!

I always feel like Hooch in Turner and Hooch

and start drooling.

Stephen A. Douglas was a great debater, but Abraham Lincoln was the Great Emancipator.

Dustyevsky...

Feels like Hanks in Forrest Gump.

Hey Dusty...Are you sure you're OK? You might need an MRI.
