Farmers only: Juan Francisco keeps hitting everything
Triple-A: Paul Janish and Michael Griffin homered to back Ramon Ramirez's 6-strikeout night, but the Bats lost 4-3. Daniel Ray Herrera and Josh Roenicke each struck out 3 in 1.1 scoreless innings.
Double-A: Just 4 hits for the Lookouts in a 1-0 loss. James Avery struck out 6 in 6 scoreless innings, and Ramon Geronimo threw another scoreless inning to lower his season ERA to 0.78 in 39 appearances. His numbers are scary good this season, and being 24 in Double-A isn't a sin.
High A: Juan Francisco was 3 for 5 with a homer (15), Todd Frazier was 2 for 4 with a double and a homer (9, 16) and 4 RBIs and Chris Heisey was a double short of the cycle in Chattanooga's 11-2 win. Logan Parker added 2 doubles. Francisco is batting .439 in his past 10 games with 3 home runs and 17 (!) RBIs. .489 on-base. .829 SLG. Wow.
Low A: Neftali Soto went 3 for 4 with a double, Brandon Waring had 2 hits and Devin Mesoraco was 1 for 4 in Dayton's 6-1 win. Zach Cozart was 0 for 5 :(.
Rookies: Kyle Day had two hits and Lance Janke struck out 7 in Billings' 4-2 win. ... The G-Reds lost 7-0.

When does Fransisco move up?
His OBP could be better I guess, but if he’s tearing the cover off the ball, why not see if he can keep it up?
sig lines are for suckas
He's only 21
His OBP needs to be a lot better. He’s got major league power - there can be little doubt about that now - but his K/BB ratio is atrocious. Might as well give him a project to work on in Sarasota.

I think Jay Bruce should be a good indicator on the importance of plate discipline
As someone (Brian B?) said the other night, he uses up 3 strikes like he thinks there is a fourth one available. He had 13 walks and 23 strikeouts in his first 106 PAs, when he batted .315/.406/.500. He’s had 3 walks and 37 strikeouts since then and has batted .225/.246/.342 in 126 PAs. Pitchers make adjustments quickly, and if a hitter doesn’t have the plate discipline to adjust with them, they can get overmatched real fast. They can move Francisco up, but they shouldn’t keep pushing him forward without encouraging some serious work on his plate discipline.
It's a lousy night to be an atheist!
Also think Francoeur could be an indicator as well

Reds release Angel Cabrera
Cabrera was one of the instigators in the fight, sliding hard into second on a force right before the fireworks. Apparently, this wasn’t the first time he’d lost his temper.
