Does anyone here use
MLB GameDay Audio? Its hard to get the Reds games here on the radio in Michigan at times and I am wondering how well this works. Is it clear and steady or do you have to keep rebooting it? Is it worth buying?
I don't need video since I usually am working on my computer or working on my collies while I listen. Or perhaps there is a better alternative then GameDay Audio? Thank you for any input or help you can share with me. :)

Sometimes, sometimes not.
I couldn’t get it at all today. Now, many evenings it comes in clearly starting around 8:30 pm. Other days I can pick it up during the day with a bit of fuzziness and interference. Sometimes it comes in pretty decent. Unfortunately its not always coming in clear enough to hear.

thank you friend!
I connected to my old actic copper antenna today and its 50 foot long. It didn’t help either. I used to do a lot of shortwave radio so when I saw your link I went and picked up 30 foot of 18 gauge wire I have and wrapped it around a paint can, connected it to the antenna and set it right behind the radio.
Now, I had it tuned to WLW and you could hear it just clear enough to understand it, but it wasn;t very loud. When I put the loop behind it it came in so loud it I had to turn it down 2/3 of the way to get it under control volume wise. LOL.... thank you, I had forgotten about loop antennas. I will play with it tomorrow during the day and see how it works and fine tune it. :)
Again, Thank You!!!!

okay, don't know what happened there with the block...
Anyways, I could just hear WLW before I connected the loop antenna. After I connected it and set it right behind the radio it came is so loud I had to turn the radio volume down two-thirds of the way on the volume to get it under control!!! LOL
I’ll play with it tomorrow and see how it works and try to fine tune it. I had forgotten about loop antennas. So, thank you so very much for reminding me and giving me the links. Please know I greatly appreciate it. :)

ive paid for it every year for the past five. i love it.
it is very inexpensive and you can take it anywhere. even though i have a local station that carries the games plus fsn, it’s still nice to have gameday as a backup in case i’m traveling, the local station is being stupid, or nobody else at work wants to hear the game over the radio.

plus you can listen to any damn game from any broadcast including spanish
if someone’s throwing a no-hitter/perfect game, i like to log in and listen to the corresponding broadcast.

i did not renew my subscription this year, but i do think it’s a pretty worthwhile investment, having had it the previous 3 years.

Yep, it's good.
You get all of the spring training day games as well, and as joshua said, it’s relatively inexpensive. I’ve never had problems with it.

Thanks to you all for telling how much you like MLB Gameday Audio!
It sounds like it works very well and if the antenna doesn’t work out I will definitely buy it. :)
I really appreciate you all taking the time to help me. Again, THANK YOU! :)

It's not perfect
But I’ve found Gameday Audio more reliable than MLB.TV, perhaps because it doesn’t need as much bandwidth. Gameday Audio is free for minor league games, so you could try those and see how you like it.
The biggest problem is that MLB.com is evil incarnate. Seriously – do not give them your credit card number if you can possibly avoid it.

Please, tell me why they are evil incarnate.
What do they do with it? I sure don’t want to have to fight MLB over my money, especially since they make more in 5 minutes than I do in a lifetime. I’m interested in hearing what they do. Thank you for the warning. :)

I provided a link
Read it, and the comments.
And it’s not just me. A lot of people have had trouble with them.

LOL! The caddyshack line.....
Nope, we let the Collies breed themselves around here and we have no weird uncles lurking about. LOL
In seriousness, I have a tribe of eight collies and they and baseball are the joys of my life, right after my family. I love listening to baseball as I chase them around the yard, or let them chase a baseball which is a lot of fun for one grabs the ball and the other seven chase after the one the ball, or brushing them or raising the puppies they have as I listen to the games. What a wonderful life to be able to enjoy my two favorite things in life, my collies and baseball at the same time. :)
In closing, I do look in the phone book each year to see if there are any Smails that have moved in nearby, fearing I’ll have to keep my collies locked up if I find one has. haha

So, you like collies and baseball, huh collies-n-baseball?
“I was born to merchant family in Grayling. I was my father’s only son, and his only joy. But then, one day when I was eight years old, I was kidnapped by a raiding party of collies. I thought that surely my brief life was to end at the paws of these heathens, but miraculously I was accepted into their tribe. The days passed, and my memories of my old life – my darling mother, my doting father – grew hazy and faint. The collies became my family now, and taught me their way of life. Running around with a baseball in my mouth had seemed dirty and savage before, but now it became a supreme source of happiness.”
