First Annual RR Family Picnic / Wiffleball Game
I am putting all of the details together for the Family Picnic / Wiffleball game and that was the date I am shooting is Sunday August 24th in the afternoon (thinking 11/noon until 3/4 or something).
It will be held at McDonald Park in Madeira and the Wiffleball game time will depend on if there are any soccer games going on at that time, but they do have 3 nice baseball fields there. I'd like to start the game around 2 (if we start at noon.) There is a small and a large covered shelter, two sizes of playgrounds and lots of space. It will be a pot-luck lunch - we can work out those details as plans come together.
I was thinking of starting the wiffleball game at a set time like 1 or 2 so if anyone with out kids / family would feel uncomfortable (or just hates kids) then they could show up a little later. By all means though, don't think we don't want you to come early!
Here is what I need to know. Who will think they can attend and if you are bringing your family. What time should we start the picnic. What time should we start the wiffle ball game? When should we all go home. Reply with this info if you would like to attend as well as any questions.
I need to get head count and times soon so I can put in the request for the shelter.
A few of us have been talking about doing this for more than a year so lets get it in action and have fun!

Sounds like fun...I think I'm available - have to check with Mrs. M after she gets back from Italy.
I might be able to get my 10 year old grandson to come, he loves wiffle ball. Maybe a couple of my kids might come too. My 25 yr.old daughter and boyfriend, maybe my 20yr. daughter too. Mrs. M is most likely a no. Anyway…it will be mighty hot mid afternoon. maybe a little later in the day might work, say 4:00 – 7:00? with a little cook out action? I can give you a definite maybe now for say 4-6 people BUT I won’t know for certain until the 28 of July. how’s that for answering your questions!
I used to be pretty good at wiffle ball but I admit to getting older (see attached photo)

I'm too old to do anything but pitch or play catcher
I also require a pinch runner..maybe I’ll bring my own

I will be there in spirit.
So I hope you’re using ghost runners.

Course, then your spirit will disappear about halfway through the third inning
And maybe show up again towards the end of the game.

So, I just read this whole thing now as I've been swamped the last couple of days
but I’m concerned about the time since it is pretty much smack dab in the middle of nap time. If this is when it goes down, I probably won’t be there until after 2pm, which is fine as long as I still get to play some Wiffle Ball. Then again, there is a chance that the little whipper snapper may be at the grandparent’s house that day, so it may not be an issue.

I read it, I dig it and
I wanna, but Gus has just discovered that he does not enjoy sleeping. If the wife hasn’t already scheduled us for something and/or we’re not fighting about what a bad person I am for not being able to read her mind, then we might could. Right now, it’s too far out to tell. I’ll holla.

** OK - What time? **
So we can pretty much do this any time. Would it be better to do it around 4 – 8 or something like that?
It is also around Mason’s nap time as well. Trey used to nap from 2 – 4 or 5 but he gave those up 3 months ago, much to our dismay.
We can do it later, but if we do it on Sunday, I know folks like to get home and have Sunday dinners.
Saturday afternoon is also an option (4 – 8 again) but I think there are a few folks not able to make it then.
Reply and let me know what you all want to do. It is not going to be as much fun if we can’t field 2 teams and have everyone out!

Hmmmm - my nap time is around 1:30 - 3:30
So…If I can come I’ll be a little groggy…will there be beer at this shindig? And what about my pinch runner and I may also need a pinch fielder…
But I’ll be dressed appropriately

Not sure..
Ya know, I’m not sure. I will have to check if it allowed at the park.
Since no one else replied and it’s only Slyde and myself that matter (kidding folks) 4 – 8 supper potluck it is.
I will mail in the request today unless someone speaks up fast!
