Christ on a hood protecter...I slip away from work -

Go hide in my office only to find that Dusty Baker has not been dismissed..and once again the Reds are offensively rudderless.

My hopes were raised then dashed--I have hopelash

So I went out drinking last night as the Reds led 7-5 thinking they had it wrapped up. I did get a text message from my brother (We let them off the hook, they are who we thought they are) that suggest the Reds blew it, but I somehow didn’t process it in my state. Then I wake up to this today.

It’s strange to get hit with 2 losses when you think you’ve got one win.

by Red Menace on Jun 8, 2008 3:19 PM EDT reply actions

that happened to me last year at an important moment

we were in the midst of (i think) a 6-game win streak and had a doubleheader with pittsburgh. I was away and had to call 1800-555-TELL to get score updates. A win would have put us something like 2 games out of first. I called after Game 1, and the lady told me we won the first game 8-4, so I was pumped and expecting a sweep. We had actually lost Game 1 8-4, and we went on to get swept. That was hopelash.

kabo modern was probably my favorite, although i like breakskate. an unscientific poll of friends who admit to watching the show expressed their hatred for b/s, though. what say you?

What do you mean, "blank slate"?

by boobs on Jun 8, 2008 4:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I was impressed by the quality all the way around

Breakskate were really good, and I was impressed just how good they could be on skates. Also, who knew that folks from Indiana could dance like that? Besides the Jacksons. And the Axl dance. And Rick House.

I loved Jabbawockies’ aesthetic. The blank white masks and gloves were such a great look.

They just showed Randy Jackson saying things

“Yo, from where I’m standing, this show is popping! It’s on fire! Bring the heat, Steve!”

Are Randy Jackson and Dusty Baker secretly the same person?

Bring the heat, Steve!

I submit this as a general catch-all exclamation around these parts. Like “Yahtzee!”

Marlon Jackson and Marlon brando are, however the same person.

Harang on Harang
It might be time to start getting concerned about Aaron Harang. He’s gave up eight runs (seven earned) this afternoon. In his last four starts, he’s gone a total of 21 2/3 innings and allowed 21 runs on 29 hits. His ERA’s gone from 3.12 to 4.31 in that span.

Harang sounds concerned.

“I don’t know what’s wrong,” he said. “I don’t have a feel for anything. I’m leaving pitches over the plate. It’s not the normal.”

That relief appearance in San Diego came after first start of this bad run.

“This goes back before then,” Harang said. “I think the first start after that it have been fatigue. I counted them up. I threw well over 100 more pitches than normal that week. But this something that started before San Diego.”

Harang said he feels fine physically.

“I feel plenty strong,” he said. “I don’t have the touch. I’m hanging sliders. I’m missing when I try to og it. I’m missing when I try to go away. The ball ends up over the plate. I feel fine in my side (sessions). I feel fine warming up.”

Harang is 2-9. He went 16-6 last year.

Apparently Harang has also lost the ability to speak English. I hope he can soon og the ball again.
