If I were Dusty...

I would get someone up in the bullpen near the end of the 5th or at the beginning of the 6th.

This is the part of the game when Johnny Cueto starts giving up back to back home runs to people.

115 pitches

I will admit, on the baserunning side, Bailey did better in his start argueably against a better offensive team(11 vs. 8)

Pretty freaking awesome

I was pulling so far for Brett Lawrie. I’m really psyched to have him; he’s been hitting with wood bats since he was 14, and recently hit eight bombs off professional pitching in the DSL, including five in one doubleheader. Jake Odorizzi was also an awesome pick, and Evan Frederickson throws 96 from the left side.

He's extremely quick and good.

Battlekow

As an unbiased third party, would you say that if a pitcher goes over six innings and gives up five runs but less than three earned, it technically qualifies as a quality start?

by Brendanukkah on Jun 6, 2008 9:44 PM EDT reply actions

It technically qualifies as a Quality Start (the official stat), yes

Whether or not it’s a quality start is up for debate. Depends on the context of the errors, I suppose.

He's extremely quick and good.

3 runs scored on the plays when the errors occurred

as I recall

by Slyde on Jun 6, 2008 9:47 PM EDT up reply actions

no runs scored on his error

but I just checked and only 2 of the runs scored on plays where the error occurred, but in both cases the error would have been the third out.
