Farmers only walk-off smacks
Shortstop Zach Cozart is creeping up the OPS ladder. He's now sporting a .481 SLG, boosint his OPS to .805. Nothing to write home about, but he's tearing the cover off the ball lately. He has 9 hits in the past 6 games, including 3 home runs and 3 doubles. He was our 2nd-round pick out of Mississippi last season and is rated the Reds' No. 18 prospect by Baseball America. Cozart is 22.
Triple-A: Josh Fogg threw his first rehab game for Louisville, going a complete game and allowing 10 hits in a 4-1 loss. Fogg struck out 6.
Double-A: Chris Valaika was 1 for 4 with a homer in Chattanooga's 6-4 loss. It was Valaika's 5th homer in Chattanooga and 12th overall this season. Carlos Fisher struck out 4 in 2 relief innings.
High A: Todd Frazier was 4 for 5 with a double in Sarasota's 6-1 loss. Ramon Geronimo threw another scoreless inning, leaving him with an 0.82 ERA in 33 innings this season. Check him out.
Low A: Zach Cozart launched his 9th homer of the season, a walk-off shot in the 10th to give Dayton the 2-1 win. Zach Stewart -- our 3rd-round pick in the draft this year -- allowed his first hit as a pro but went 2 scoreless innings for his first win. Brandon Waring extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Rookie: Neftali Soto was 0 for 4 in Billings' 5-4 loss. ... Shea Showden allowed just 1 hit in 6 innings in the GCL Reds' 9-3 win. He's 2-0. ... Juan Duran was 2 for 4 with a double in the D-Reds' 6-3 win. And put 20-year-old Juan Aquino on prospect watch. He struck out 8 with no walks in 6 innings to improve to 3-0. He's struck out 29 and walked 2 in 20 innings this season for a 1.35 ERA. Maybe it's time for a trip to the States?

It must have been a dream
but I swore I saw on the crawl of ESPN that Fogg was traded. It sucks to wake up to reality.
The Dusty Path to the World Series!*
*Note this is not an endorsment of Dusty Baker.
Let's see, who're we playing next....?
The Cleveland Indians?! Lord. This three game series will feature two runs, total. I’m pretty ready for interleague play to be over (hello, All-Star Game), and am downright giddy about seeing our friends at LGT (not that there’s anything wrong with that) again.
This is brilliant
A Fukuthome jersey! At first I thought the guy was trying to unite both Chicago teams, but slowly it dawned on me that he just really hates the Pale Hose.
