John Flaherty
(who is probably my favorite YES broadcaster aside from He Who Shall Not Be Named) had some interesting points about Patterson. He said he stands so far away from the plate he can’t cover the far half. And the pitchers know this, from the scouting reports. So they just throw strikes over the outside half of the plate. He wondered why Patterson doesn’t move closer to the plate.

Before the ninth gets started
let me ask, why do I always feel better with Burton in any inning than Cordero in the ninth? (thanks to SBNation’s crappy interface with any portable media device, I will be lucky to get this posted before the game is over)
because he's a better pitcher
so far this year, anyway. you got it right on man. its good having two of those in your pen.

Well
I wonder who’ll they send down to make room for Thompson? Not Janish, that’s for sure. Patterson? But they seem to want him for Griffey insurance. Andy Phillips?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
is Phillips shorstop insurance? (i.e. BP moves to short and AP plays 2B)
I bet it’s Hopper or Patterson

Cabrera?
It’s been almost 10 days since we moved an injured SS off the active roster. We’re due.
Hmmm...
How long does it take to recover from a dislocated index finger?
If Cabrera’s going to be out for awhile, they’ll probably want another SS.

It has been such a long time for something this good to come along
no offense to Aaron Harang
www.crosleyfieldterrace.wordpress.com
It's because the Cincinnati media hasn't quite figured out how to relate to him.
It’s not your fault. If he were white and from Hamilton, he’d have his own variety show on Channel 5.
BTW

does anyone else mind
if Janish starts at SS for the next week until we get back home and Kepp is ready to go? as long he isnt hitting 2nd he’s better than terrible.

I think it will be Janish
And I don’t mind. I don’t think the Reds are headed for the postseason this year, so might as well give the kids a chance to play.
But they need a backup SS.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?

I don't mind
because, since we’re in the AL right now, doesn’t that mean that all our weak-hitting babies get designated hitters?
Jolbert's dislocated finger broke the skin
and they had to stitch it up on site.
barf.

eyewwww
It sounds like he’s headed for the DL, then.
And not sure if there’s anyone in Louisville who can help.
Where’s the Gay Porn Star when you need him?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
I don't think so
They might rush him. But they didn’t think he was ready. His hitting is fine. It’s playing SS they’re worried about. They aren’t sure his knee is up to it. They’d have called him up a week ago if Hairston hadn’t been injured. They were going to play Kepp at 3B, a less demanding position.
In Louisville, Kepp is not playing SS very often. I think he was at SS only once this week. He’s been DHing every other game, and playing 3B instead of SS sometimes. Probably to ease him into it.
They could call him up, but if they do, it will be a desperation move.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?

Great night for Jolbert Cabrera. Too bad it had to end the way it did.

Saturday afternoon games
Once again, I won’t get to see Thompson’s debut tomorrow because Fox will only giving me the local Chicago game and blacking out the MLB package. But hey, how else would I get to see the local game on tv, cuz Cubs and White Sox are NEVER on local tv otherwise.
