Hey Dusty...Are you sure you're OK? You might need an MRI.

bruce!!!
ya gotta bat him for patterson. Lefty schmefty. This is the highest leverage point in the game. Go with your best bat.
Which is not Patterson.
how can you swing at the first pitch??
and how can you leave him in? He has been flat out horrible
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
If the game goes extras
Arroyo could yet end up with a higher average.

Where are Keppinger and Hopper?
They don’t seem to be playing in Sarasota or Louisville tonight.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
According to the Fay
Hoppinger did not play tonight because there was a rain delay in Sarasota. The game is being played, but Hoppinger is not in the lineup.

JUNYA!

walks the run in
fear the Griffey!!
I wonder if Patterson learned anything watching that at bat?
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
he was driving me nuts
but I’ll give him credit, once they got 2 strikes the Cards went right to that zone where he has very little success and BP got it done.
I like when they score runs.

Ahhhhhh...
Bases are clear…
Kind of had a laxative effect.

Hmmm...
I think you’d have to invoke some non-normal physics to get a different result.

(Not the official stat, of course.)

Just noticed something...
Jared Burton does not suck.
Hey Dusty...Are you sure you're OK? You might need an MRI.

I think that the next Game, Arroyo will be in Center and leading off.
CPAT .195 avg OPS .584
Arroyo .192 avg OPS .584 as well
Corey Patterson
Can still get worse today. A couple of hits, and he’s up 5th next inning.
Hey Dusty...Are you sure you're OK? You might need an MRI.
by Paul Householder on Jun 12, 2008 9:30 PM EDT up reply actions
no one has ever done that for the Reds
playing CF for 100+ games, batting .200 or less and have an OPS of .584 or less
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
He's working toward the worst season ever by a Reds OF
http://www.bb-ref.com/pi/shareit/bcFm
He’s got a ways to go to reach Eric Owens, but I think he’s down to an OPS+ of 48, so that would put him second all time for a player with at least 160 PAs for the Reds.

It's good to have a goal.

BTW, the great thing about Corey...
Is that his PAs are pretty much the same as his ABs, since he doesn’t walk much.
Also, I wonder if he will set the record for fewest pitches per plate appearance?
Hey Dusty...Are you sure you're OK? You might need an MRI.
by Paul Householder on Jun 12, 2008 10:07 PM EDT up reply actions
sorry, BR.com doesn't have pitches per PA in a searchable form
but FWIW, he’s still not below the number he put up last year. Going into today, he was a 3.22 P/PA. Last season he was at 3.15 P/PA, which was just below his previous low from 2006 at 3.16 P/PA.
And the point about AB = PA is a good one, since it makes it much easier to calculate OBP without having to think too much.
"Hard being everybody’s hero, I suppose." - Buck O'Neil on Willie Mays
I can't see Corey getting another 60 plate appearances can you?
don’t answer that, because we both know what the answer is.
Bobby Tolan’s 73 season is the amazing one to me on that list. The Reds had dumped Carbo and McCrae in 72 in really, really bad trades and were short on outfielders. Sparky moved Tolan to right for Geronimo and he just stunk up the place.
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
dudes and dudettes,
Jared Burton is officially awesome as all get out.

Surely, David Weathers
Cannot blow a five-run lead against the Cardinals, can he?

Reach base. I want to see Corey Patterson try to hit again.

Although I think that...
No matter how badly he does, he still has those photos of Dusty, so he will be batting leadoff even if he begins hitting below his weight (186).

He shouldn’t even be in there.

This time Dunn is taken out for defensive purposes
and Griffey stays in. Dusty is equal opportunity about removing his corner OFs.
I would like to take Dusty out...
For intelligence purposes.

Bold prediction
Cordero will throw 20+ pitches this inning.
He will be tired, and tomorrow’s game will be close.
He will blow the save tomorrow.

Yay.
I don’t know why I’m still pissed, though.

Cause it was needlessly aggravating
And you know it will probably be just as aggravating tomorrow, too?
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Aggravating? With a stadium full of Red Sox fans?
I don’t know what you could possibly be talking about.

even if it was just for 86 pitches

I’m going to the Hulk premiere at midnight and then coming to Cincy tomorrow to see the Sox lose. I’ll try to get some decent pictures and post them

The 'Chief' was sporting an over .300 BA at that time too.
Sparky got the 5th hole correct – LF.
"When I got my award, I just wore my usual stuff," Dunn said.
"Was it for the Reds organization or all of baseball?" Bruce said.
Wow, you guys
No one feels your Korey Patterson-related pain more than Cubs fans. At this point, I fear Dusty’s mancrush on Korey knows no bounds.
My sympathies.
