I heard three Van Morrison songs while out driving today.  That has to be a good sign.  I mean, it's a marvelous night for a ballgame with the stars up above in your eyes.  And BP will be flashing some glove, glove, glove, glove, crazy glove.  The best part of all is that Volquez is on the mound.  Uh, sha la la la la la la la la la-ti-da!

I won't be around tonight as I'm watching the Lost finale with some friends - even if Man Mountain has already ruined the big reveal for me.  Bitch.

Should be good!

And I like this lineup, all things considered.

Nikki and Paolo (sp?)

Just kidding. I don’t know if I could pick one because it’s the interactions that I like. But I love what they are doing with Ben’s character and I’m a big fan of the Desmond episodes. My least favorite episodes are almost always Jack-centric.

Van Morrison... How about Jim?

haha, we had our AP English finals today in the form of themed presentations… One involved disabled thinking leading to creativity… Not about Van Morrison, but here’s a quote about another famous Morrison singer:

“For our representative of music, we’re using Jim Morrison… He wasn’t autistic or anything, but he did trip a lot of acid which had the same effect.”

When he's hitting as he is now...

There’s nothing to dislike.

However, let’s keep this in perspective. How many 31-year old position players who are not on “male enhancement” have you seen improve on a lifetime of .254/.325/.360 (over the course of 2606 AB in 11 seasons)?

I think Hairston is a special case

He was really rushed. Made it to the big leagues after only one year in the minors. He struggled a bit, as you might expect, but then did pretty well…until he had that broken rib.

IOW…I think his 2003 and 2004 numbers are probably more representative of his abilities than his career numbers.

I know Cowboy gets a lot of deserved scorn around here...

But just listening to this guy…

Have you ever wondered if you could string together as many ill-placed cliches and utter non-sequiturs? This man has an undeniable talent in those areas, and we should acknowledge that.

Inside the mind of Dusty...

Hmm…Volkie only threw 39 pitches on Sunday…

I normally have him out there for 110 or so for each start…

He’s only thrown 100 pitches thus far…maybe he’s got something left in the tank…

80 degrees is that considered hot?

I wonder where the Dippin’ Dots guy is?

Speaking of hot, I sure do miss poopsie…er…Corey Patterson…

What was I thinking about?

Who’s up first next inning? Patterson? Ross?

Hey. Did that guy just hit a double off Volkie?
