maybe you have to have multiple B's and O's in your name to post here
What do you mean, "blank slate"?
I have a B and multiple k's
(Suck on that, BK!)

Yeah, but you've got those two Ns.
Everyone knows that names with two Ns clog the bases.

Busy posting fanboy cheesecake in the other thread

Eh
It’s not like ocqui is particularly on-topic.
(But the Pens are up 2-0.)
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Good. Those octopus-chuckers can suck it.
It wasn’t so much that I was derailing your topic. You’d expressed an aversion to the cheesecake before. Sorry about that. To make amends, here’s David Duchovny. Enjoy?

I wouldn't say I have an aversion to cheesecake
I just don’t think the LOLcats are any worse than cheesecake.
The octopussies just scored on the powerplay. It’s 2-1.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
Best. Comic. Ever.

Reds depend on drawing from a large region
for attendance. I wonder how much the high gas prices are affecting their numbers.

I think it's the losing
That’s the biggest problem.

Well, that’s when we will put them in.

Just realized
in an inning and a half, this team won’t be in last place.

off topic
Yahoo’s MLB site has this picture up:
With the title: “Pick up the Pace“
What a crock. That game was 18 innings long. Six hours isn’t excessively long to play 18 innings. That picture is intentionally deceptive.

Not
Only a Cherry double.

I like Jerry Hairston Jr. batting leadoff.

I think Dusty is still pouting about CoPatt
that he didn’t want to help out Bruce and argue the call.
Jerry Jr. makes a play for PT.
This team is close to being competitive. Esp. if Ross gets some PT and keeps his compact swing.
"When I got my award, I just wore my usual stuff," Dunn said.
"Was it for the Reds organization or all of baseball?" Bruce said.
Alright, alright.
But what if Bray gives up 8 runs and we have to play 18 innings? THEN WHAT?

Then Jay Bruce will pull up a tree from across the river and use it to hit his first MLB home run to win it.

Bronson Arroyo is 4-4
Aaron Harang hates his teammates.

Yes but
Bronson deserves his wins. He’s been Goodroyo in his last several outings. And he got a pinch hit.

Fuck, you're right
I don’t even own any Rise Against. All these bands, and their similar names… Back in my day, the only “against” band was Rage Against the Machine, and that’s the way we liked it, dagnabbit!

Go Reds
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I’ve been watching the games on FSN pittsburgh so haven’t been posting much during the game.
Beware the toothpick knows.
This version of the Reds is great.
And Dusty and Jay were in the Dugout today.

I really just can't stand to listen to Jeff Brantley anymore.
Somebody please fire this asshole. I haven’t been able to comment during the games lately because I’ve been following along a couple hours behind on tivo. Brantley won’t shut up about about how dumb young players are right after they do something good, and how good young players are right after they do something bad. And everything comes back to verteran leadership.
Last week I was watching TV while Thom and Chris Welsh were praising Volquez for having such a good idea what he was doing out there on the mound. Then I left and went out into the car and turned the radio on. Volquez gives up a home run and Brantley
says “two changeups back-to-back . . . some pitchers just don’t have ANY IDEA.”
Earlier in the year, Brantley was going on and on about how the Florida Marlins just know how to run an organization. Yes, the Marlins. They’ve won two World Series in the last 10 years because they’ve always brought in veteran leadership to teach their young players how to play the game right. But no one EVER mentions that the teams who lose ALSO HAVE VETERAN LEADERSHIP! Yes, even the Reds!
He tried to analyze Adam Dunn’s swing yesterday, comparing his recent swing with a swing from earlier in the year. After Dunn’s homerun, they showed us his homerun swing, and it looked exactly like the swing from earlier in the year (with Adam’s torso slanted). My wife was really confused.
My wife was cracking up the other day because Brantley actually said that the secret behind winning is losing so many times that you just can’t take it anymore.
This hasn’t been a very organized rant, I know. I’m to the point where I feel like I should keep a log of how ridiculous Jeff Brantley is, like I did with Bob Boone. I just can’t believe how bad he is.
i like the way he says "Right... down... broooaaaaadway"
also, please don’t forget, “This guy is just not a clutch hitter.”
What do you mean, "blank slate"?
veteran presence
On the first night of the Marlins series, I was interested to hear if Brantley would try to credit their success to veteran leadership. I mean, Ramirez? Uggla? Amezaga?
He then latched on to Luis Gonzalez’s leg and started humping
...crumbs...

If only Waite Hoyt were still alive
"When I got my award, I just wore my usual stuff," Dunn said.
"Was it for the Reds organization or all of baseball?" Bruce said.
I am like Jay Bruce
The reds are .800 when I am there on hand to watch the game. The crowd was pretty sparse for such a lovely day but who knows. Many of the fans were pumped for Bruce and I haven’t heard such a Boo-urns since the days of Wookash Orbzut. The only unfortunate things with the game were that I took the ferry for the 2nd time ever, it took forever and I was surrounded by drunken douchebags in white sunglasses. Men should not be able to wear white sunglasses unless their name is Kanye West. Also, what is the deal with people wearing basketball jerseys to baseball games? Stop it you look like a jackass and deserve to get your ass kicked. Also, whats the deal with airplane food…........

airplane food?
I am 2 for 2 on seeing Reds wins this year. I was at the Edwin walk-off game against Arizona and then Bruce’s debut. It is nice to see the Reds playing with some energy and excitement.
Basketball Jersey – I will always remember the goof in the Pistons Jersey Tuesday night.
Sun Glasses – They only pair I have noticed lately have been Phillips’ (Brandon type). Why bother? But I guess they look cool on top of his hat.
Airplane food – I have only flown once since 1988 and that was on Skybus so I have no idea.
But why aren’t older Mercedes equipped with cup holders?
