Farmers only anticipate the inevitable
The bad news is we're all still Reds fans. The good news is Jay Bruce had another multiple-hit night, and with the dead man walking roaming center field and enjoying 0-for-8 nights, I think we can expect a Bruce promotion by this week, possibly for tomorrow's game.
Triple-A: Andy Green homered twice as the Bats defeated Toledo 10-4. Green was 3 for 5, and Jolbert Cabrera fell a homer short of the cycle and finished with three RBIs. Drew T. Anderson doubled twice and also had three RBIs, and Jay Bruce, Andy Phillips and Kevin Barker had two hits apiece. UP NEXT: Bats at Columbus, 7 tonight.
Double-A: Chris Valaika was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk in Chattanooga's 5-4 loss to West Tennessee. Valaika's been a lot better the past week or so. Danny Dorn doubled in 2 tie it up in the ninth, but Pedro Viola gave up a walk-off single in the bottom half. Seems like that's been happening a lot lately. UP NEXT: New series vs. Montgomery, 7:15 tonight.
High A: Juan Francisco was 2 for 4 and Drew Stubbs reached base twice, but Sarasota lost 6-2 and split the series with St. Lucie (11-39), perhaps the worst team in Minor League Baseball. UP NEXT: New series at Fort Myers, tomorrow night.
Low A: Devin Mesoraco was 2 for 4 with his second homer of the season in Dayton's 6-4 win at West Michigan. Keltavious Jones was 3 for 4 with a walk, and Brandon Waring walked 3 times. Luis Montano (6-2) got the win, and Jeff Jeffords and Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette each offered a perfect inning of relief. UP NEXT: Game 4 at West Michigan, 2 today.

an excellent day
for most of our top prospects. Mesoraco is really heating up. Dorn coming back strong. The system is holding up pretty well in spite of the promotions of Cueto and Votto. Hopefully Bailey figures things out soon.
Hopefully an announcement about Bruce tomorrow, er today.
FIRE DUSTY BAKER
with the day off leading into the homestand
i’ve gotta think today is the day. As great as Bruce has been to follow here in Louisville, I hope I never see him in this town again.
What do you mean, "blank slate"?
That's the rumbling
That Bruce will be called up today, I’m guessing LLM gets DFA’d. It’s just rumblings, but it’s coming from a lot of different places and that usually means it’s true. Man I hope it’s true.

but Votto
is already in Cincy. What else is there that Canada has without their greatest export?
...because there's already someone posing as Jacob Brumfield

Dime a dog?
I can make myself sick for a buck? Excellent.
"Got a bump on the ole noggin, but otherwise god. And I get a new vehicle probably, w00t!"
Amen to that.
Weather reports aren’t looking good. You think it’ll be rained out?

they usually try to get them in
but it looks like we are going to get hit hard around 4 PM or so. I hope they at least start it so I can see him hit before he goes to defend the Queen City against an invasion of Pirates
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
i have tickets for tomorows game
they were really cheap first row tickets on Ebay so I hope he gets called up, since I will have a wonderful seat for it.
PS…
If type “Jay Bruce” into googlenews this thread is the first link.

I'll try to get some pictures tonight
It is a really great facility to get close ups from so hopefully I’ll get lucky. Also a good place to see some former major leaguers taking in a game.

Caleb,
I also hope you get lucky tonight.

Andy Phillips...
...was 2 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
It was a good game
I have a few pictures that I’ll try to get posted later. The crowd was pretty disappointed with the fact that Bruce wasn’t in the line up. Lots of Reds fans in attendance.
Barker reminded me of Marshall Brant and Steve Balboni, two former sluggers that played for the Clippers in the 80’s. He hit a foul ball that was a laser beam out into the park beyond the right field fence. He also hit a line drive that would have decapitated the pitcher as well as a hard line out to straight away center field.
