Maybe not about Fogg specifically, but just grooving a pitch. I think it was right before Harang came in. And he was incredibly impressive, but you just know that’s gonna come back to fuck us. god the pitching staff is going to be fucked up for a while, even with the off day tomorow. Harang can’t pitch on Wednesday. I would also like to see Volquez pushed back a day. Perhaps Fogghorn could get a start, maybe demote Belisle and callup Ramirez (tuesday’s starter for Louisville) tuesday to give the Reds a fresh long reliever, and if he isn’t used Tuesday start him on Wednesday, and if he is used Tuesday call up Tom Shearn, and to make room for Shearn demote Ramirez and place Gonzo on the 60 day DL (it won’t effect when he cna return because it will be retroactive to March). Keep Cueto on schedule for Tuesday and Arroyo on schedule for Friday, and start Fogg on Thursday.

I can't figure it out
but I can sleep well knowing the Dusty Baker can.
FIRE DUSTY BAKER
Maybe if Dusty doesn't have CoCo pitching the 9th 7-2 game yesterday...
He’s more fresh today. He now has 2 blown saves, each of which came when pitching three consecutive days. Idiot.
like Alan I hate defending Dusty
I was thinking the same thing as you, but he already had CoCo warmed up, so he felt like he mightaswell use him.

I suppose
But damn, it’s frustrating. Of course, all of this talk about double-switching, bad management, blah, blah, blah is totally moot if the Reds don’t blow THREE save opportunities in one damn game. Unbelievable.
with cellphones
and what not, it would be very easy for dusty to manage the game. Plus I am sure they ran down a lot of potential situations.

thats bullshit
warming a guy up doesnt spoil his arm. Having him throw another 25 pitches in a game situation does.
What do you mean, "blank slate"?
not saying it was the right decision

I know this is pretty knee jerk after one game
but it is time to fire Dusty Baker I have had enough of his act. He is almost as bad as Bob Boone when it comes to over thinking the simple game of baseball and I’m getting sick of his makeshift line ups. Our Starting rotation is in shambles for the rest of the week because of this asshole and I would be saying the same if we won this game.
Also lets end the Corey Patterson being on an MLB team run
Norris Hopper's #1 fan!!!
but it's not one game.
it’s more like 50. Over and over we see the double switch, batting patterson leadoff, etc. I can’t remember a single game that I thought was particulary well-managed.
To be fair, I can’t really think of any game by any manager that I thought of as ‘well-managed’.
Everybody's a jerk. You. Me. This jerk.
Sparky had a bunch of them
of course any of us could have managed that team
Hope Springs Eternal! Go Reds
I'm not sure he'll be around next year
wishful thinking, perhaps, but I think Jocketty is smart enough to know that Dusty is not the right guy and has enough clout with Castellini to get it done.
