Farmers only: Attack of the Lookouts
One of our top two minor league pitchers took the hill today for a quality start. But in light of recent political events, does anyone have any really good foot-in-mouth stories to share?
Triple-A: Tom Shearn gave up 3 home runs (including one to the immortal Mike Hessman) as the Bats lost 6-0. Hessman, a 30-year-old, has 19 home runs in 46 games. Pff. Jay Bruce was 1 for 4, and Ryan Hanigan was 2 for 3 to raise his batting average to .324. UP NEXT: Game 3 at Toledo, 7 tonight.
Double-A: Chattanooga let loose with 14 hits, smacking down West Tennessee 11-5. Danny Dorn had 3 hits, and Chris Valaika hit his second homer in Double-A. Let's hope his game takes off from here, because his start in Chattanooga has been horrendous. Oh, and Daryl Thompson struck out 7 in 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 runs and no walks. He still sports a cool 1.76 ERA and a K/BB rate of 4:1. UP NEXT: Game 4 at the Jaxx, 8:05 tonight.
High A: Sarasota struck for 6 runs in the 5th, but the Reds fell to St. Lucie 9-7. Juan Francisco was 2 for 5. UP NEXT: Game 3 vs. the Mets, 6 tonight.
Low A: Enerio Del Rosario allowed 2 runs in 7 innings to cling to the organizational ERA lead (1.59), but the Dragons blew it in the bottom of the ninth and lost 3-2 to the West Michigan Whitecaps. Logan Parker tripled, and Devin Mesoraco added a hit to extend his hitting streak to 5 games. UP NEXT: Game 2 at West Michigan, 7 tonight.

Note
Del Rosario’s “organizational” lead excludes Voltron, of course.
What do you mean, "blank slate"?
Lehr sold to Korean team.
From MLB.com transactions:
Cincinnati Reds
Sold the contract of Minor League RHP Justin Lehr to the Doosan Bears of the Korean Professional League.

Interesting.
I find it hard to believe that Lehr thinks he’d have a better shot at the majors on a Korean team than on a AAA affiliate of a team with Matt Belisle in the starting rotation.

He's going to be only the second American player on the team this season.
(If Wikipedia is accurate), and will be in the same pitching staff as a former Red.
