Dusty Suspended

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions, which included making contact with Umpire Eric Cooper, during the seventh inning of his Club's game last night against the San Diego Padres at PETCO Park in San Diego. Baker's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight, when the Reds continue their series against the Padres.

I didn't really see Dusty make contact, but I guess he must have. Too bad they couldn't suspend Corey Patterson as well.

Dusty said he didn't mean to imply that the umpire should be assassinated

just, that we shouldn’t be surprised that that guy is still an umpire this far into the season.

When Dusty gets back, would he liked to have Brayan Pena

on the roster? The Braves designated Pena for assignment today. He’s someone we talked about here in spring training as a possible acquisition.

if the reds haven’t already been talking to Atlanta about Pena, then someone should be fired. Oh, wait . . . Well, seizing the moment on a young prospect at a position your team desperately needs isn’t exactly Walt Jocketty’s forte. Why exactly is he our GM again?
