Brendan

I just wanted you to see this if you missed it in the prior thread.

I am against useing Mercker considering his use would mean a Reds lose.

I think the Braves forfeited a game about 10 years ago

for activating a player the 14th day he was on the DL.

I enoyed that talk of Gentile Giants

Klu and Killebrew…unlike Dunn who apparently punches women when he’s not interrupting Joey Votto interviews. yeesh.

remeber that time that Arroyo finally got himself on track

after a lapse of command and velocity, and Dusty imediatly pitched him on 3 days rest after a 110+ pitch outing, and he is going to push 120 this time?

but how will he look on Monday?

or in June or September or 2009? Remember he will be in Cincinnati for a while, barring a trade. I think they should atleast try to protect their investment, unless they want to pay Kremcheck to repair his labrum/rotarcuff/uneral-laterl legimate

6.08 ERA

he needs 3 more starts like this to get down to sub 4 ERA

by buckeye22fox on May 14, 2008 9:27 PM EDT   0 recs

who wants to lay odds on Arroyo going out for the 8th?

he hasn’t reached 120 pitches yet.

Huey Long

Did he sing “The Power of Love”?

At least it wasn't Grady Little.

by Paul Householder on May 14, 2008 9:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Huey Long was a douche

However, Howie Long could tackle people

by buckeye22fox on May 14, 2008 9:30 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

I kinda like Huey

gotta love a southern populist/facisit, who was pure evil but could get shit down. He provided free text books to the students of Louisiana, even the Black ones. Upgraded the road system, and several other cool things.

His brother who’s name escapes me at the moment served in the Senate and had a drinking problem, because of that the Democrats stripped him of his power, chairmenships and what not, and he was replaced by Ted Kennedy. That is irony.

but he never was a Senator. He died in 1960 and knew Ted Kennedy.

Ummm - I just got in. apparently Donkey killed another rally.

Saw that Jerry Jr. got a 3 bagger. I just found out that his Grandfather played in the Negro leagues, of course his dad played like 14 years with the White Sox. Nice tie into The Soul of Baseball.

Oh and another base hit Jerry Jr.

The Reds are very big on generational families

The Bells, the Boones, the Griffeys, to some extent the Perezes and the Roses, and now the Hairstons.

i was looking through Arroyo's history on rotoworld

goes back to spring of 2003 when the Red Soxs claimed him off of waivers. He seems to be consitantly inconsistant going all the back to his early days in Boston. He would be unhittable for a stretch, and put up a double digit ERA over the course of 5 starts. I guess the curveball is why, when he commands it he is great, and when he loses command of it he is awful.
