Hardball Made Easy
I don't know if these have been linked to previously, but I got them from Paul DePodesta's new blog .
It is Hardball Made Easy with Ron Stilanovich - a series of hilarious baseball instructional videos that include real major leaguers! You can learn to:
Block the Plate with Matt Kemp
Take 1 for the Team with Carlos Zambrano
Getting All Defensive with Brad Hawpe
No Excuses with Andre Ethier
Scrappyness with Ron Stilanovich
Learn from career minor leaguer Ron Stilanovich on how to be a smarter, tougher, and ultimately, better all around ball player.
"Did you know I spent 4 seasons as Bullpen Catcher for The Lake Havasu War Turtles?" - Ron Stilanovich
I know it's not Reds related, but so what? Not every YouTube posting can be Hitler talking about the Reds.

I’m looking at you, Edwin.

So hating scrappyness must be universal!
That was funny. Great find Slyde. I’ll use some of these at practice with my 7 year old team this week!

Shrink that strikezone down.
That’s no longer a strike zone, it’s a scrap zone.

Check out that last pitch by Zambrano
the one that starts out in the zone and takes off into the kids face… jesus! I wouldn’t want to be standing in front of that one.

That had to be a whiffle ball
No way is he pelting these kids with real baseballs. I think that funky break was a product of the funky plastic.

a wiffle ball won't travel that fast though
even thrown by Zambrano. If he were to try to throw a wiffle ball in the 90s he would hurt his arm. Trust me I tried to blow a wiffle ball by my dad a couple of years ago at an easter family funtion. I throw about 20 pitches with a wiffle ball as hard as i could, and my shoulder was really sore for about a month. I tried to play catch with a friend a week or two later, and couldn’t even throw the ball 20 feet, and every toss was with great pain, and no velocity.

we tried this once before
and while i thought it was a great idea, it ended up having very little momentum.
hopefully, we can actually get this done!

That was a fun thread
I like seeing everybody’s families. Makes y’all seem more like real people.
I’m down for some wiffle ball. Too bad my parents don’t live in my childhood home anymore. We had a perfect sized/dimensioned yard with a home run fence and everything. We played so much that the bases turned into dirt spots. My parents weren’t too thrilled with that, but at least we weren’t doing drugs or knocking over mailboxes.

It's Thursday!
Which means I won’t be back here until at least Sunday since I only do this from work (sun-thur), and being in IT I have all the free time in the world, right JCH!!

I do what I can
I’ve been manning the guns here solo today, so I’m happy it’s been quiet. What exactly do you do at UHC, I forget? Other than taking a chunk of my hard-earned money twice a month, of course. :)
Please Note: I may be totally full of shit.

Matt Kemp is "The Bison"
That’s probably because he’s tougher than a robot made of nails.
