Game 36 Thread: Reds at Mets
Cincinnati Reds at New York Mets, May 10, 2008 1:10 PM EDT

The secondary goal today besides the win, is to not allow Santana to overtake Edinson Volquez in the strikeout race. Peavy has already tied Volquez, and that's...okay, but the Reds need to get their teammate's back on this one. Plus, they need to score lots of runs to help get a win.
According to Yahoo we've got Belisle in the first game and Arroyo in the second. Anybody else wish we had a least one different pitcher going today? This is a very dangerous pair to be throwing out on the same day. The bullpen could be wiped out today. Er, I mean, Belisle is going to throw a shutout and make my point moot.

I know Santana’s a lefty and all, but “Ou est le Dunn?” Also, “Porquoi le Patterson?”

this is the "speed" lineup.
but common. if youre going to sit Dunn for his crippling leftiness, where the fuck is Harriston?! i mean, i really shouldnt be this frustrated over the lineup every day. its not complicated.

Phillips and Griffey are sitting in game 2 according to Fay/Dusty
Not that it really answers the questions… but still
It's probably just the doubleheader lineup
Everybody gets to play on doubleheader day. And usually, the same guy doesn’t play CF in both games.

Yeah... six runs in the first sounds about right to me...

Thank God for the Game of the Week on Fox so that we can all see our local game in whatever city we are . . . because we would never be able to see our local game on the same local channel which it airs all week long . . .
Didn't see the hit
Could Griffey have been expected to score on Phillips’s hit? I know going from first to home is asking a lot, but…

I don't mind having a running game if we had players who could play that kind of game
Patterson and Freel are simply too pickable…
Mostly unnoticed by the screaming heads
Historically, Dunn is one of our best basestealers. He hasn’t really done too much this year, though.

I doubt Dusty would even try to send him
His running game is mostly about surprise though. No one expects it.

I'll be honest
I expected much worse when he gave up back-to-back singles to lead off the inning.
Now, if our guys will stop helping the Mets (ie. getting picked off, wild pitches on the third strike and out, don’t swing at everything, etc.), we might be able to pull this one out!
