Today the Reds optioned to Triple-A RHP Todd Coffey, and recalled LHP Bill Bray. Bray allowed just 1 ER on 4 hits and 3 walks in 8.2 relief innings (1.04 ERA) while at Louisville, while striking out 14 batters. He only allowed one home run, and had one save.
Coffey's ERA: a Sterling 6.46 with a WHIP of 1.72
I like this move a lot. Coffey just can't be consistent. About 1 out of every three apperances he is perfect. The other two, well not so much. I know Bray is lefty number three in the pen, but I still think Bray and Affeldt have good enough stuff to get Righties out.
