Happy SNB Crash Day everybody! I hope you all enjoyed not being on the Internet as much as I did yesterday. But for now, on to the minor league baseball!
Triple-A: Adam Pettyjohn outdueled Bryan Bullington as the Bats beat the Indians 7-5 . Adam Rosales' 2-run triple in the first put the Bats up. Longtime Bat/RiverBat/Redbird/80-year-old Kevin Barker homered, as did former Bat Matt Kata. Chris Dickerson was 2 for 4 with a triple to boost his batting average all the way up to .172, and Paul Janish was 2 for 4. Jon Adkins went 2 scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 0.77. This guy is a pitcher . UP NEXT: Game 3 at Indy, 7 p.m. Jason Lehr on the mound for der Fledermause.
Double-A: Ben Jukich struck out 8 as the Lookouts held on to beat the BayBears 5-4. Danny Ray Herrera got the win after a perfect inning and a Craig Tatum 2 RBI double in the eighth. This week's fave Shaun Cumberland was 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts. UP NEXT: A new series vs. Carolina, 7:15 tonight.
High A: The S-Reds had a hard time getting the bats going as Clearwater rolled 7-2. Our 1-6 hitters all had hits, but so what. Shane Victorino was 2 for 3 in a rehab assignment, and our Travis Wood allowed six hits and four runs in his least-effective outing of the season. UP NEXT: Game 2 at Clearwater, 7 p.m.
