I wouldn’t mind Castro so much if he was only used late in games as a defensive replacement to hold a lead, naw I lie, I still minded him being on the Reds roster. A right handed bat that has some life to it is what the Reds need right now.

This breaks up Dunn and Jr. and puts Dunn (who is getting on base a ton, despite a lousy average) ahead of our best hitters. Maybe this gets us a couple of more runs a game.

I wish Freel could start 2 or 3 games a week.

I was somewhat bummed this weekend in 20 innings I got to see him pinch run and get ejected.

i'm ok with Homer in AAA

and Fogg in long relief. Fogg may be useful or atleast a nesscary evil at some point this season. I think if the Reds DFA Fogg they will regret it in August or September as the rigors of the season catch up to the team. I remember when the Reds DFA’ed Williams in MAY, and had to use Mickalik in August.

I think Bailey is getting more out of starting in Louisiville

than pitching in long relief in Cincinnati. He needs to develop his command and his secondary pitches. That is easier to do pitching every 5 days, rather than whenever the team is desperate for sombody to suck up some innings.

Excellent move

Although Hairston isn’t the glove Castro is, he is good enough and gives us a much better bat. He is also just as versatile. Plus, Castro’s range was only going to decrease as age crept up on him. He still had great hands but not as much range as 2-3 years ago.

I think it’s good that Valentin is taking extra BP. If they want Ross on the major league roster, then I’m not sure Javy will stay.

It seems sporadic

It doesn’t happen all of the time for me, but it does occasionally. Perhaps they are fiddling with the database and it is causing a rip in the time-space continuum or something.
