i dont really get roseanne hate

her show is one of the most underrated sitcoms of all-time. there aren’t (weren’t) a lot of shows that showed what middle-lower-middle class life was like, and it was a very funny show (until they got rich and sold out). I mean, yeah, she spit during the national anthem, which was tasteless and crass, but if you ask me the whole ceremony of the ssb before a game has become a joke anyway.

i agree about the song

my problem is that we’re forced to sing it before every game, so it’s really lost its meaning. now it’s a contest to see which singer can hit a higher note on “free” and warble the most. It’s really become my least favorite part of a baseball game.

At least you're not in DC

Where everybody screams the “O” as loud as possible. It’s an Orioles thing, but has persisted in DC, even at Nats games. And not just baseball games. It’s been done at the soccer games I go to, and I would assume the other sporting events in town too. It’s dumb anyway, but would make sense in Baltimore. In DC, it’s downright Butcherian.

It's got something like six verses

The actual song is pretty lengthy. It’s a British drinking tune, too. We just tend to sing the first verse, and then use “God Bless America” to ice the opposing pitchers at Yankee Stadium.
