W-L ERA WHIP K BB
2008 - Josh Fogg 1-1 7.00 1.33 6 3

W-L ERA WHIP K BB
2008 - Carlos Zambrano 1-1 3.20 1.09 18 2

The set of active Reds have a pretty good combined record against Zambrano (.268/.384/.463), so maybe there's a chance of some offense tonight.  I'm still not panicking, but I'm getting frustrated.  This has not been a fun team to watch over the last 4 games.  At this point, I don't care so much about wins and losses (as long as they win), I just want some entertainment value for my time spent.

Josh Fogg has got to be seeing what Belisle and Bailey are doing in the minors, right?  I'm not convinced that either of them would necessarily out pitch Fogg right now, but you have to hope that their success in the minors will provide a little motivational boost to Fogg for this start.  He's probably not pitching for his job quite yet, but he shouldn't feel comfortable, that's for sure.

It seems with Soriano going on the DL and Corey Patterson back in town, the Cubs are having Patterson-envy.  That's why they've recalled Eric Patterson to take Soriano's place.  Now I can finally play the "Our Patterson is better than your Patterson" home game I got for Christmas!

Josh Fogg's career numbers at Wrigley?

Not awful:

10 starts
3-5 4.53
59.2 IP
30 ER
52 H
17 BB
35 K
8 HR

So according to my math, Fogg could pitch seven innings tonight and only give up .939 of a home run.

And three of those eight home runs were hit by Sosa.

So unless Sammy’s suitin’ up tonight, Fogg should be clear to go the full nine ;)

It DOES make a difference

You would much rather have guys on 2nd and 3rd than 1st and 2nd, just if there is a wild pitch, which Zambrano is not above doing. That play really illustrates why I’m learning to really dislike EE as a player. It’s just bone-headed. His baseball IQ is just not very high. He has skills, to be sure, but he is so frustrating. I know lots of you like him but I’m getting tired of his inconsistency and idiotic mistakes.
Our offense is hit or miss…..all or nothing and Krivsky really needs to do something to better balance this roster.

agreed but...

only if it’s even a slim chance. He had zero chance. You are right, though. The offense has looked horrible. And what I meant by all or nothing is that, suddenly, they’ll score 10 in a game. We just don’t have the right blend of players. We’re poor defensively, especially in range and we have too many home-run hitters who don’t hit consistently. I just think Krivsky needs to see that this general group has not won together and he needs to start tweaking it somehow.

In all fairness

If all the U.S. had to reply on was Josh Fogg, we would have given up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

Did you see the look on his face?

Fucking HILARIOUS, Foggy. Get the fuck off my team.

I think that baby is going to... uh... expire...

That baby will not be pining, it will be passed on. This baby will be no more. It will have ceased to be. it will have expired and gone to meet its maker. This will be a late baby. It will be a stiff. Bereft of life, it will rest in peace. it will be pushing up the daisies. It’s almost rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-baby to be.

Walk, no outs

At least he’s consistent.

Walk him!

I’m a Cubs fan until Josh Fogg is out of the game.

chris told me why fogg sucks...

it’s because the infield grass is too short…

makes sense.

Are We Done With Corey Patterson?

He was hot for the first week of the season, but he has been HORRIBLE since. As a leadoff hitter, he is hitting about .225 and has a OBP that is WAY under .300. I want my leadoff hitter to GET ON BASE, and he doesn’t do it.

UGH

Forget that – another AB – he is now batting .220…...............
