Red Sox V A's Game Thread (tardy)

Am I the only one watching this game?

Matsuzaka is struggling.  He has thrown 60 pitches threw 2 innings and loaded the bases twice.  Blanton is pretty much crusing.  I guess Doc was right.  Steve Phillips is bruttle to listen to.  By looking in Matsuzaka's eyes he could tell he was ready to compete.  I would like to see a game in the Tokoyo Dome.  I do think this game is bullshit. My roomate was pissed that I woke up at 5:50AM.  It puts Oakland and Boston at a disadvantage, and these count as 2 of Oaklands home games, giving them only 79 home games.

The Dome
I spent a semester in Tokyo and went to a few games there.  I'd post some pics but I can't figure out how and it's a pretty nondescript stadium anyways.  But it's definitely worthwhile to go to a game if you're ever over there.  Our cheerleaders don't seem so ridiculous all of a sudden.

i try to take in foreign baseball when i can
I have seen a game in Havana.  I hope to see some games in the Dominican at some point, and that time will come when I have the money and the time. I don't have that as a junior in college.

The games in Japan were pretty $$
and I preferred to allocate my limited resources to alcohol, so I didn't go to many.  I did have tickets for the A's-Mariners regular season game in '03 but that got cancelled because of the war.  Boo.

the game in havana was 5 pasesos
or about 20 cents.  There weren't too many seats though, I sat on a cement step.  The 9 of us went togeather, we got seperate my buddy sat with the Marines, who took a flag to the game.  It was Team Cuba V Team USA.

Matsuzaka just threw his first 1-2-3 inning
he is around 80 pitches in 4 innings.  A Homer Bailey special.

Matsuzaka has a nasty changeup
it breaks away from lefties.  I wish ESPN had the pitch velocity up.

Matsuzaka through 5.
struck out 6, walked 5, 2 hits, 2 runs both earned, 95 pitches.  I didn't think he would make it through 4.  He was very Homer Bailey like.  Or maybe Homer Bailey is Matzusuka like.

for those of us who have stuff to do
and cant see the game, its the top o' the 6th, 2-0 A's.  blanton seems to be cruising.  steve phillips said something.  david ortiz is still the ugliest clutch hitter in history.

Blanton threw 5 shutout innings?
Maybe Daugherty WAS right.

Blanton out after 5.2 innings
he threw 5 great innings, he lost it in the 6th.  I am guessing he probably hit wall of fatigue.  He threw 94 pitchers.  At this point in spring training pitchers are "building up" to 90-95 pitches.  He walked one, struck out 3, and and left a runner on.  He gave up 3 runs all earned.

Embree is on now.  He got a K, to strand the runner at 2nd.  Close the book on  Blanton.

Blanton was solid.
But I'm still not sure if he would've been worth all of our prospects and Votto/Bailey/Cueto/Whoever. The A's should've won that game. Too bad the Streetster blew it. I like the Sox, but I just want Japan to get a reality check with them.
