Kerry Wood Injury Pool

Could we take bets on the day Wood goes on the DL. With Pinella at the helm he will more than likely be injured.  It is interesting they replaced Dusty who was blamed for ruining Prior and Wood, with Lou, who isn't much easier on young arms.  Well I still need a few more characters to make this a diary.

I say May 27th.

looks like he is hurt already

MESA, Ariz. (AP)--Chicago's Kerry Wood missed a one-inning relief appearance Wednesday because of lower back spasms, putting the competition for the Cubs' closer job on hold.

The development was "a little bit of a setback, but nothing, nothing serious," manager Lou Piniella said.

Wood, a former starter who has suffered shoulder injuries the past few seasons, had the inside track for the job over Bob Howry and Carlos Marmol. He was scheduled to pitch one-inning stints back-to-back for the first time this spring against the Oakland A's Wednesday and the Colorado Rockies on Thursday.

Wood, who has also experienced back spasms in past years, underwent treatment and will be reevaluated Thursday.

That was where I got the idea from
I am going on the assumption that this is a temporary thing and he will not be placed on the DL.
The Dusty path to the World Series! (This is not an endorsement.)

Kerry Wood's not young any more.  This will be his 10th major league season.

I'd rather be taking guesses on when Jr. goes
down for the first time.
