Dustball annouced, via the Inquisitor, this morning his thoughts on the line up for 2008. It all hinges on the #1 and 2# batters for DB. His lineup (granted it is early, but there's Vet Presence thing) is:

Fropper CF
Hatteberg 1B
Griffey RF
BP 2B
Dunner LF
EdE 3B
Gonzo SS
David Lee Ross C
Pitcher

Regarding Farney and NoHo Baker is quoted by Fay: "I hope one or the other is the game...that's my hope"
So when Griffey pulls up lame maybe DB will get the opp to have both Ryan Freel and Norris Hopper in the game.
Although he does include Votto's name in the mix there's nothing about Bruce. And he's got Keppinger working out at first base - maybe some kind of platoon thing. But if Freel is in the game  then Kepp becomes the utility guy. Also there seems to no interest in moving players around in the lineup, e.g. Griffey is still at #3 and Dunn at #5. Dustball says the lineup won't surprise fans." It probably won't be a whole lot different than last year,"he said.
I guess he doesn't want to rush these young guys like Bailey, Ceuto,Votto or Bruce. I guess it is normal conservative MLB policy to dredge up last year's lineup at this time of year BUT it really sounds like Dustball has 'it all figured out, already" - Sounds ominous to me.
