Reds Fest XI: Dec 12-13

For those who are going to RedsFest  this weekend, I wanted to post some sort of loose meet-up thread if anyone is up for it.

I plan on being there all day Saturday (11-7:00) but won't be there Friday (4-10) due to work constraints.

This will be my first time to the Duke Energy Center and RedsFest and it sounds like a ton on fun. But I do have a few questions:

How difficult is parking? Looking at the map, there seems to be at least 3 major parking garages around the center.  Do they fill up early? Lots of traffic?

Do people normally line-up in advance of the doors opening? Should I get there early? Do the players charge for autographs? If you do bring stuff to get signed, can you bring in some sort of bag to carry your stuff in?

I'm 50-50 on attendance at this point

if I go, it will be early on Saturday – between 11 and 2 probably. Events beyond my control will limit my time.

Parking isn’t tough. Last time I went, I parked a couple of blocks away in a garage. I don’t remember what I paid, but it wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t be too worried about finding some place to park. There are several places within a few blocks of the convention center. And if you’re planning on being there at 11, I doubt you’ll have a lot of trouble finding a spot near by. The crowds come and go throughout the day, so it shouldn’t be too tough.

There were a lot of people there 2 years ago when I went, but the only time the crowds were significant in a specific were in the lines for autographs. I’m pretty sure you can waste a good hour waiting in one of those lines. I don’t believe they charge extra for autographs, but I wasn’t seeking any so I don’t know for sure. That’s all I can say on autographs.

I’ll let you know on Friday if I can make it on Saturday and maybe we can meet up.

Is anyone meeting afterwards?

I might be able to make it out past the witching hour either day if folks are getting together afterwards. Shoot me a gmail or call.
