Reds Minor League Transactions

From Baseball America:

Cincinnati Reds
Signed:
LHP Aaron Fultz, 1B Wes Bankston, OF Laynce Nix
Released: OF Yuber Rodriguez

"As a member of the Blue Jays organization, Rodriguez batted .309/.379/.502 as a 20-year-old in his repeat of the Appalachian League in 2004. But it proved to be a fleeting glimpse of his five-tool talent, as he proceeded to hit .220/.300/.311 in three seasons in low Class A. Rodriguez, a native of Venezuela, signed with the Reds as a minor league free agent prior to the 2008 season."

Bankston is an interesting sign. He's had an up-and-down minor league career, but has some right-handed pop, so he could be useful if someone gets hurt. Oh, and by the way, Brad Salmon signed a minor league deal with the White Sox.

Hmmmm

Chad Moeller signed with Baltimore.

Justin Lehr signed with the Phillies.

Little Ray Ray is a Ray.

And the Brewers signed Chris Duffy. I hadn’t realized the Pirates released him.

Yeah.

Funny comment on the Bucs site . . . after Willy Taveras was signed, some fan says “Huh, I didn’t realize there was a market for Chris Duffy.”

True. True.
