If the season started tomorrow...
The Reds lineup might look something like this:
CF Dickerson
2B Phillips
RF Bruce
1B Votto
3B Encarnacion
SS Gonzalez
LF Hopper
C Hernandez
We need to see improvement in the leadoff spot. I know Dusty would be comfortable using a CF there but I'm not sure Quickerson is ready yet. We have 3 outfielders on the roster, no viable backup if Votto gets hurt. Only about 40 days until the players report so the Braintrust needs to get moving.

Dusty's leadoff solution
Hopper plays center, bats leadoff.
Sorry for ruining Christmas.

I think some quality people can be had at a very reasonable price come Feb.
The shortstop of the future should be the main focus until the Yanks go broke or the other main FA’s are signed (one’s we can’t or wouldn’t want to afford). Please don’t ban me but Sammy Sosa wants to make another comeback. Perhaps an all big head platoon in left between Barry and Sammy lol, and medicare would pick up the medical expenses. Just saying.

1B Votto

Close because you have picked the correct players, but you;ve forgotten who the manager is….the above is the Dusty package. Guaranteed.

I'll eat Slyde's
sweat-soaked Fantasy Camp jock if Hopper is in our starting lineup on opening day. I would love to see us pick up Xavier Nady (under Infield Chatter). He would be the “Nady in Red.”

it would also be
the first X-man on the Reds since Hernandez, who I always dug.
...because there's already someone posing as Jacob Brumfield

I want this verifiably noted and followed up upon.

No Nix in center?
And no Nixon, right?

I think it would be great if the Reds did nothing more.
That would send a signal that they truly are going for 2010 and building a sustainable successful future for this franchise. THAT’s something I can get behind.

Now withTaveras - everything changes, a la Dusty
CF Taveras
SS Gonzalez
RF Bruce
2B Phillips
1B Votto
3B Encarnacion
C Hernandez
LF Hopper
The only possible difference that Dustbrains might is bat Hopper 2nd and Gonzo 7th, w/Hernadez 8th.
