Community Prospect Rankings: #3
The race for the 2nd spot was a tight one, but Neftali Soto pulled ahead on Saturday and never relinquished the lead over Todd Frazier. I've added two more names to the list today, Zach Stewart and Juan Francisco. The two are the only remaining players that both Doug and John Sickels agree are in the top 10 for Reds prospects.
I'm interested to see how today's vote could go. If it's close by the evening, we'll leave the poll open an extra day. Otherwise, we'll take a look at spot #4 tomorrow.
Vote early and often!

Gotta go with Frazier.
For all the reasons mentioned in the No. 2 prospect thread. When, as with the Reds, there isn’t much difference in Nos. 2-5, that’s either the sign of a very good system or a very bad one. I place the Reds in the former category.

If we can get Todd Frazier to stand next to Jesse Crain ...
There’s a funny photo floating around that worldwide web thingy of two football players we had at Marshall sitting next to one another on the bench. The first was Gladstone Coke. The second was Curtis Head. Thus, Coke Head.

DREW STUBBS!!!!!
It’s amazing the amount of pent up resentment you guys have for Stubbs. 2 years ofunderperforming and watching Tim Lincecum is really hard for people to let go. He had a huge year at the plate last year, and that accompanies his ++ D, and Rickey Henderson speed. Just wait till his power comes around.
I can’t believe Soto was voted #2 over Frazier and Stubbs, that must be a joke.

no resentment for Stubbs
i just dont think he’s as good as Soto, Frazier, and Alonso.
and who is Tim Lincecum?

I resent Drew Stubbs
That sounds like one killer T-Shirt opportunity. Who wants one?
We’’re in process of trying to a guy with a trade record of working with pitches
/raises hand
But I’d also like it reversible to say “I Believe in Drew Stubbs.” I do think he’ll be a good centerfielder for us, and soon.
I voted for Stubbs in the first vote, but then Soto and now Frazier. Honestly, like an elderly Broward County voter, I saw Frazier at the top of the ballot, voted, and realized only later that Stubbs was still there to be voted for.
Or maybe my resentment towards him has blinded me.

I voted for Stubbs every vote
He has great potential for RR nicknames etc.

Nobody resents Drew Stubbs
And I’m with you on not being able to believe that Soto won the last one, especially after Frazier had such a huge lead. Not that I’m saying it’s suspicious or anything…

For all you Centerville (or Yellow Springs) kids out there
Dingleberry’s Record Store has that picture on their MySpace page. Sadly, Dingleberry’s will be closing at the end of the year. It had a great run as an independent record store servicing the Dayton area. If you can, go out and see if there’s anything left to be had. All the merchandise is marked way down.

the one and only indy record store in my heart
is the dearly departed Sour Records in Westerville. i learned more in my college years hanging out there than i ever did in a classroom. he even had my picture (with my best friends) hanging up behind the register, right next to Bob Dylan and Spinal Tap. sigh…those days are gone forever.

Went with Frazier
Yeah, I know…. I went with Stubbs in my final rankings at the end of the year, but after Frazier went nuts in Hawaii it swayed me. I debated all end of the year on whether to go with Frazier or Stubbs at #3 and chose Stubbs just on a hunch. Then Frazier went to Hawaii and beat up on baseballs for a month and it just added more credibility to his stick and I changed my mind.
