Intriguing idea
Expect it to be banned ASAP. The last thing the lower levels of baseball needs is more bat speed. It’s a highly dangerous proposition to be a pitcher these days as it is.
That said it looks cool as hell and I’d love to try one out.

did you find any independent tests?
Paradoxically, narrow gaps like that don’t always lower drag. To get all technical, if the boundary layer is not much thinner than the gap, the drag is nearly the same. That’s why competition swimmers keep their fingers slightly separated — drag between the fingers is not much reduced, and they effectively get a bigger hand-paddle.
It’s notoriously hard to calculate how much drag you are actually going to get. Much more accurate to take it to the lab and do a test.
