Cliff Lee's Cy Young
Remember way back when, back before the Reds season was a lost cause, when Edinson Volquez and the Reds kicked Cliff Lee's rear end? That was some game. i was there, rooting on our guy, a guy who must have a Cy Young in his future.
How did this happen? How did Cliff Lee go from being a picture of mediocrity to a dominating Cy Young winner?
On a related note, Hobbs won a silver slugger. What a great trade that was, but boy, do I wish we could have both Voltron and Hobbs on our team.
Lots of stuff going on today prior to tomorrow's deadline. It's nice to have some real baseball news for a change rather than the endless speculation about things that may or may not happen. Or may not happen and then happen later.

congrats on Cliff Lee
I have a friend who’s an Injuns fan. He kept MLB.tv just to watch Cliff’s starts every 5. Can’t say I blame him entirely.

this isn't much of a diary, is it?
if this were dkos, i’d have been chastised enough to remove it. honestly, though, i meant to write some more stufffff about it, but honestly, i just forgot for awhile. sorry.
use this as a thread to discuss how awesome our pitching staff is despite all of the recent moronic (moranic) articles to the contrary.
What chu mean this is a GREAT Diary
Cliff Lee is a big story
Voltron is going to be a big story
AND if only we had had Hobbs and Voltron…I think this is as interesting as sitting around looking trades that ain’t gonna happen.
Cliff Lee most likely did not have dickheadpole for his pitching coach. Dick Polhead is one dude who needs to find a new job elsewhere,
We don’t go no Hobbs cause he don’t play Dustbrain Ball…he just drives in Runs….

According to...
This was an embarrassing week for the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Three writers included Edinson Volquez on their National League rookie of the year ballots despite his not being a rookie. Then three other voters somehow left Roy Halladay off the American League Cy Young ballots. Halladay was 20-11 with a 2.78 ERA. …

seriously what the fuck happened to him
he was a mod, contributed almost everyday, posted finding gifs. He even killed his first identity over Jerry Narron.
I bet he and JD are lovers, and he left us to support JD.

here is a question
Will Roy Halladay reach 300 wins? He is 31 and at 131 wins right now. It isn’t inconceivable that he could have another 10 seasons averaging 17 wins left in him. He seems to be a horse and like he could probably pitch well into his 40s.
Now to reach the 300 win club everything has to go just right. A pitcher has to stay healthy for his whole career, have luck (good bullpen and offense), and come up at a young age. I am guessing a 300 win pitcher will be a once in a generation thing.
I know wins are a rather worthless stat, but I would still like to see guys reach 300 wins. I would also like Harang win 20 next year, Volquez to win 15, Arroyo win 13, and Cueto win 11.
