RR Survivor Pool Week 5

5 weeks in and it comes down to this.  Slyde vs. Man Mountain for the championship.

Here's the teams that each of you can't pick:

Slyde: Eagles, Giants, Bills, Saints

MM:  Panthers, Steelers, Titans, Jaguars

Let's keep it clean, gentlemen.

Star-divide

Also, since this didn't even last for half of the season, there's been a lot of talk about starting up another NFL related game.  If anybody has a good idea about this, post it in the comments.

How bout the overly complicated nfl prediction game?

Each week you pick ten games, and assign point values to them. The game you are most confident in you assign ten points, and the next confident you give 9 points, and so on until you have picked your one point game.

If you pick the game correctly, you get the assigned number of points. The winner is the person at the end of the season with the most number of points

I'd be fine with that.

It seems like there’s enough interest in college football to do something like this for that as well, but that would really complicate things, especially if we had them in the same pool.

Speaking of other sports

I've still got Dennis Kucinich in my Presidential Fantasy League

I’m thinking of using him as one of my keepers.

Going out on a limb there.

The first thing I noticed when looking at the previously picked teams was that neither one of you had Dallas. Which means it’s pretty likely this lasts at least another week.

I say we do round two

Hell, even let Slyde and MM make choices in both if need be.

What happens when they both pick the Cowboys,

and then the Cowboys are upset? No winner, they just suck a little less than the rest of us?

I will not pick the Cowboys

I’ll pick a tough one

we can pick a more even game if you'd like

though that’s a little hard to find this week. If we’re going to go head-to-head, which I’m cool with, at least let’s make it a more even battle.

clearly this contest was rigged!

BK, gets admin powers, and starts a football game. Then slyde conveniently wins the contest.

this year’s knockout pool has forever been tainted!

congrats on your win though.

by jch24 on Oct 6, 2008 9:20 AM EDT reply actions

Definitely doing something.

We’d probably have to reset all the teams for everyone so we all start from scratch, and the same rules would apply. On the other hand, I really liked ’than’s idea about changing things up a bit with the “pick 10 games, assign confidence points to your picks” idea. What would you guys rather do?

That's gonna fall on whoever does the scoring

That’s a bit of a PIA when dealing with this many people. A straight suicide pool is probably the way to go.
