Did anyone else cheer for the dodgers when they beat the Cubs?
It might just be me but I personall can't stand the Chicago Cubs. I hate their team, their stadium, their players, their colors and most of all their fans. I for one was jumping up and down with joy while the Dodgers dealt the Cubs their ever expected choke. Could it be possible that I am just being jealous of the team that is constantly better than mine? Or does anyone else feel this way?

No offense Cub fans, I just don't have any respect for the Cubs franchise....they suck.

I feel exactly the same way
I was cheering for the Dodgers like I would cheer for the Reds…….nervous when the Cubs got a couple of guys on base (which, I guess was only a time or two in this case), yelling at fly balls to “get up” when it looked like they might be home runs, pumping my fist when the Dodgers got a double play. Even though the Reds ended up in 5th place, it made the season not feel so much like a failure to see the Cubs lose, especially like that.
I hate everything about the Cubs, but most especially their fans. Really that’s probably how all of the hatred started, anyway. I don’t hate the Cubs because they’re from Chicago……because I don’t mind the White Sox. I hate the whole backward hat-wearing Jeep Wrangler-driving drunk frat boy yuppie legions of fans that don’t know jack about baseball outside of Wrigley and Harry Caray and Ferris Bueller. So to see them all miserable, well, that’s what makes life worth living.

Try living a block from Wrigley for 2 years.
You’ll see everything you’ve described. However, as much as I hate the Cuns and I really really do, I did thoroughly enjoy Wrigley and Wrigleyville. It’s a great place to live as a post-collegian.

The worst fans are the girls that buy pink Cubs hats and gear because they're "lovable losers"
“Was that Adonis Ramirez who just base hitted?” “Lisa! The Cubs turned a doubler!” were actual phrases I’ve heard at Wrigley during the Reds @ Cubs games I attended (all but 1 while living in Chicago).

because those idiocies you mentioned made me laugh.
i don’t hate the cubs, and i love their stadium. i just hate their *&^%$$#@! fans who’ve recently come to acknowledge that baseball is indeed a sport and wrigley field is an alternative to the regular drunken bar scene.
i used to go to reds games at wrigley while in college, and i always enjoyed the fun in the playful animosity we shared. now the animosity is real, and it isn’t fun anymore.

Growing up in the 1970s, I detested the Dodgers,
although I respected the organization. They were the Reds hated NL West rival.
In the early 1990s, I covered a Cubs minor league team and got to know a lot of their people, so as much as I hate to admit it, I have a bit of fondness for them. Most of the front office guys, except for Scott Nelson, are gone. Scott’s one of the higher ups in the organization and he’s a great guy.
The Cubs frequently used to send minor league instructors to Huntington. One of the great joys in my writing career was watching a 60-something Billy Williams take batting practice. What a sweet, sweet swing. He was a tremendously nice person. Very humble.
They also sent Jimmy Piersoll in as an instructor and he was everything you’ve heard, read and more. What a character. Another ex-big leaguer, Mick Kelleher, was a nice guy. The pitching coach was Ray Sadecki and he was terrific, too.

there was a famous, perhaps apocryphal, radio kerfuffle in Britain
when an elderly listener turned in to BBC Radio One and heard “…tits like coconuts.” She immediately fired off an angry letter about obscenity on the radio.
It turned out it was a nature program, and the original phrase that the presenter had said was “…and blue tits like coconuts.”

I'm with Mads...
…which is scary in itself.
As I’ve mentioned before, the Dodgers are the root of all that is vile and disgusting in baseball.
See, here’s the problem with hating the Cubs. They suck. Even when they win, they still can’t win. That is not hate-inspiring. It’s just pathetic.
The Dodgers became the Hated Dodgers because they won. The Yankees became the Hated Yankees because they won. No one says, ‘Oh no! We have to play the Cubs juggernaut!’
And if that doesn’t convince you, I have two words: Dusty Baker.
’Nuff said.

Most Hated Fans on the Planet
I bought a Dodgers hat I was so excited. Marty B’s prediction came true as usual. The Cubs did find a way to blow it. The Red’s time is just around the corner. I look forward to the day that I can tell an annoying Cub fans to go “F” themselves bc the Reds just beat their a$$. GO REDS!
