NLCS GAME 3
Time for a new game thread, since the last one was on Friday.
vs. .
Starting pitchers Hiroki Kuroda vs Jamie Moyer
The Dodgers need a strong response to the Phillies to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole from which no NL team has ever escaped in a playoff series. The only AL team to do it was Ramirez's Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS.

I went to the official DC United bar to celebrate the USA's victory last night
There was also a crowd of Red Sox fans there, and a crowd of Penn State fans. Let’s just say my buzz was harshed.

If we had a RB who didn't drop the ball or get arrested, I'd agree with you.
But the Bengals have absolutely no talent at RB. Ryan Fucking Fitzpatrick was the leading rusher today. With how bad the OL has been lately, I’d agree it’s a problem, but it won’t be worth spending the 1st overall pick on (which at this point, I fully expect to get).

I have tix for the Eagles game
I had the choice of that of the Chiefs on 12/28, the last game of the year. I chose the Eagles because of weather/holiday reasons but I might change it just to show up with an “0-16, make history!” sign.
If anyone would like to point out a remaining game they will win, have at it. My guess is that they shut Carson down soon, making this team completely useless.

If we got Oher, I wouldn't be disappointed.
I think Moreno is a more dynamic RB than Wells, but the blatant homerism in the Bengals front office would trump it. Can you imagine the moronic fan revolt if the Bengals passed on Wells to draft Moreno?

drafting 1st. the front end of the NFL draft has become more of a game of russian roulette than a chance to build your team. of course, nobody will trade for the top pick either. what a mess.

Exactly
I hope they somehow win one/two games (Browns/Chiefs?) and the Lions or Rams pick first to take the pressure off.
I still love the Reds despite their idiocy. I’m well past that point with the Bengals and fully expect them to fuck up the pick.

I liked Jimmy Johnson's explanation of Russell Maryland
He said something to the effect of, “We really just didn’t want to screw it up. We looked for someone who would definitely start for us for the next ten years.”
There’s so much risk involved at number one that no one wants it, understandably so. Nothing worse than shelling out big bucks for a stiff.

then it's just a consitently dumb call. Dallas got saved on that one, and a fumble earlier in the game that was missed
it was an egregiously bad call. Romo’s forward progress was said to be stopped.
As for the dumbest rule in all of sports, I nominate one that came up last night in the LSU Florida game. An LSU player fielded a kickoff, and got one foot down. However, his second foot came down out of bounds. Instead of just giving calling the return dead, and spotting it where the LSU player stepped out, they called a penalty as if the kick had gone out of bounds. The ball was then moved all the way to the 40 yard line!

Rundown
Cowboys make a play to the 40 yd line, spike it with 3 seconds left. There was an injured Cardinal behind the line, so it was an encroachment penalty moving it to the 25. 52 yd FG attempt, Cards call a TO to ice the kicker as they block the attempt. Second attempt is good, now we’re in OT.

Let's see
Dallas completed a pass in the middle of the field, and ran up to spike the ball. But there was an injured Arizona player behind the line when the ball was spiked. Officials huddled. Offsides called. No penalty yards assessed. Officials huddled. Five penalty yards assessed. Dallas kept its offense on the field. Officials huddled. Clock reset to four seconds. Dallas sent on its punt team. Officials huddled. Official booth review – everything was the way they called it originally. Dallas kicks a field goal, but it’s blocked! But Ken Whisenhunt had called a timeout. Dallas kicks the 52 yard field goal again. Good! Tie game.
This took approximately 39 hours.

but I’m pretty sure he slowed down and didn’t actually kick it square when he heard the whistle… and there’s no way the Cowboys line would have let the defender that close to the ball without that whistle
