2007 predictions revisited....

Back in March most of us had hope of at least a decent season...

here's the link

if the Reds win tomorrow we will be 72-90
and the winner is a tie between reds123 and bobestes (both picked 73-89)

if the Reds lose they will be 71-91 and the winner will be sidnancy (picked 70-92)

this 7 game losing streak put a lot of people (me included) out of the running...it is also a good indicator of what to expect if we don't keep Dunn & Griffey next year.

I remeber my thoughts back in march
Harang Arroyo nothign really changed

I thought Belise would be better that was foolish

Lohse did about what I thought he would

Milton- IC, didn't see Tommy John coming

I thought the bullpen would be much better.
Burton, Saarloos, Weathers ,Stanton, Coutlangus, Bray, Majewski, Salmon, etc, I thought there was too much raw talent in pitchers like Burton, Bray, Majewski, etc, that they would just have to be good.  I was so fucking wrong.  I am optomistic every spring.  I should do spin for the Red's.  I can't think with my head about this team.  Oh well next year Belise will step up, and so will Bailey.  Cueto will win rookie of the year, Hamilton, and Dunn will stay healthy for a full seaon, Bruce, will take over in mid seaon when Griffey has a castrophic injury, and his left leg litterly falls off.  Bruce will have a Francour like debut.  Harang will win the Cy Young.  Shearn will be the worlds greatest middle reliever and logn man.  Phillips will hit 35 homeruns.  Thom Brenman will lose his volcal cords in a horrible accident.  Stanton will regain his 1998 form.  Burton will have 55 saves.  Weathers will be a great setup man.  Encarnacion will break out.  Votto will continue his september production.  McBeth, Bray, and Slamon will be lights out, leading to a 6 inning game, with 5 nasty boys in McBeth, Bray, Salmon, Weatehrs, and Burton.  Left handers will have a .000 OBA against Coutlangus.

Those are my official 2008 predictions.

bar keep
I'll have what he's having, lol

"Griffey has a catastrophic injury, and his left leg literally falls off" brilliant!

injury?
That sounds like catastrophic leprosy, the worst kind of leprosy there is.

If you read carefully
he calls it a "Castro-iphic" injury, which I suppose is the sort of leprosy you get rid of then contract willingly a second time for more years and a bigger payout.

I really missed on the Dodgers (as did most of us). I wrote "I'm not crazy about the Dodgers, but I really like their depth all the way into the upper minors..." So I definitely would have been right if not for Colleti foolishly blocking the kids.

I think teb7 is the clear winner. If the Padres make it he'll have called 7 of the 8 playoff teams.

Sorry I was not aware about this Blog
Until late July.  I definitely would of posted a .500+ season if I had my $.02 worth. I'm an eternal optimistic, I still believe the Hoosier will make a Bowl this year in Football.  However, the Issue that surprised me the most was that not one single person chose Bob Dylan as the concert they would of attended.

I don't want to rehash a 6 month old conversation(ok maybe I do), but when Bob Dylan Plugged up at the Newport Folk Festival it changed the whole environment of music itself.  The beloved Beatles would of rehashed a song similar to; Help! or I want to Hold your Hand for the rest of their careers.  The Stones would of kept making similar songs to Ruby Tuesday and blues covers.  Anywho, if Dylan hadn't plugged up the guitar with a semi hostile crowd the summer of 1964 many of the classics that we love may not of come into existence.

Anyways, Playoffs next year and the series in 09'

Dylan
I have seen Bob in concert 5 times (including my first concert, a graduation present from my older brother), otherwise he would have been ahead of The Police in the "Presently Together" subdivision.
just....wow.

My Predictions
While my prediction for the Reds' record was unfortunately close, my other prognostication was slightly off.
