I gotta say it.
Where are the Reds fans? Not just butts in seats, but here at this site? At any Reds blog or forum?
You've lost interest because of the losing? But the team is playing so well now, and has been for two months!
Baseball is more than winning. Sure, this seven season losing streak sux for us Reds fans who are used to winning seasons. But there is so much good in the very near future. Please don't jump on the bandwagon when they come back from the dead if you've decided to ditch them in a time of need.
Look, this season isn't lost either. Griffey is on the path to 600. Dunn is heading towards his fourth consecutive 40HR season. At age 27, might I add. Jared Burton is coming into his own and hell, might be a member of the next Nasty Boys with Bray. Majewski has thrown well of late, too - perhaps he will be all that Sweaterpants thought he was?
Brandon Phillips is a joy to watch. So is Jeff Keppinger of late. Josh Hamilton is always ready to show greatness. The offense has been pretty good in the last month or six weeks or so. And we have September callups in two weeks, when we get to see our very bright future!
So where are you? You gonna come back when they win next year and pretend you were a Reds fan all along? Dude, we're all sick of the losing. But some of us are around expressing our informed opinions and hopefully putting pressure on Wayno to do something good. Just look at how Slyde and some others got to talk to the Enquirer about how Dunn should be kept. That's called making an impact.
So, no more of this less than 200 comments per game thread, ok? We all have lives we're neglecting. Life is what the off season is for!!!! ;)
