Adam Dunn Star 1st baseman

As far back as the beginning of last season that I thought that Dunn should be groomed to become the Reds 1stbaseman. As you all know there was a brief attempt to work him into the position before spring training of this year. I don't really know why this idea has not been pursued. Dunn is a decent enough athlete. he's got a good  BB IQ and he's a prototypical 1stbaseman: Hits for power, a big target to throw to and although not fast he has pretty quick reflexes.
Daedalus, I believe, alluded to the fact that the Reds told him to stop working out there because he wasn't getting the hang of the position. But I cannot believe that with training, and hard work that Dunn couldn't learn to play 1st. Plus the knowledge that it will prolong his career and increase his value should be some incentive for Adam to give it a try again. This would open up a starting spot for Jason Ellison....no wait, I was channeling Wayne there for a moment! I meant to say with Dunner at first base Jay Bruce could be given a shot at left field. Or for you 2 or 3 NoHo fans, Norris could compete. Votto does not strike me as a guy who will be any different that Hatteberg, except that Hatteberg has experience and hits .300 at the MLB level. Votto is a shot in the dark.
In conclusion, if Dan Dreisan could play 1st base, if Dave Kingman could play 1st. base, if Javy Valentin can play 1st base THEN Adam Dunn most certainly can play 1st base.
