Beer on the plane
Maybe Bob should stop that deal until the team is over .500   No wonder they play like ass on the road.

Well,
They also have the worst home record in the league.

A little beer didn't hurt the Babe.

A keg of beer
didn't hurt the Babe. 23 hot dogs, 7 cigars, and a dozen groupies didn't hurt him either.

Only seven cigars?
But what about the other five groupies?

I hate human interest stories
And I normally can't stomach people trying to tell me about how Jesus saved them and all the rest of it.

But I can't get enough stories about Josh Hamilton.

Would I feel differently if he wasn't on my team?  Would I feel differently if he wasn't doing well?  Perhaps.  But he is on my team, and he is doing well.  ROY Hobbs.  He hasn't (to me) shown any signs of letting his addictions reclaim him.  To this point, he seems like a complete and utter success.  I wish him all the best, and am pulling for him to succeed.  I've been so impressed by the way he's dealt with his past and the way he's dealing with his success.  He knows exactly where he's come from, and what's at stake.  His priorities seem to be in the right order.  He knows that baseball is a game and he's lucky to do what he does.  If he had to, I think he could walk away right now and still be a happy, successful person.

That moment on Opening Day is one of my favorite memories of the season.  The crowd cheering, the smile on his face... he was reacting the way we all would if we got to play Major League Baseball.  It makes me want to root even harder for him.

So good job Josh.  I think I speak for the rest of Red Reporter when I say that we're pulling for you.

I really enjoyed this article
but is anyone else as fascinated to hear his wife's side of the story on this as I am?

I haven't read anything more than a few stray quotations, but she must be a remarkable woman.

Hamilton's hustle
Anyone else noticed it doesn't seem that josh hustles as much anymore.

To keep from wearing down?
I wonder if hr's been told to conserve his energy so he can last the season and/or not get hurt.

by pw on Jul 5, 2007 3:15 PM EDT up reply actions

That was the point of the story
He's kicked his addiction, so he doesn't have to...  oh, on the baseball field.  Well, hustling is for cheaters.  Pete Rose, Sammy Sosa, etc.  Barry Bonds is one straight arrow, though.

Awesome story
I'm not ashamed to say I had to wipe my eyes a couple of times. Good on him for what he's done.

Great read
Gotta love how Josh interacts with the fans.
