Narron wins Turkey of the Week

The 700 WLW Jennie-O Turkey Store...turkey of the week is none other than skipper Jerry Narron.

here's the link ... (not smart enough to make link smaller)

http://700wlw.com/pages/localSports.html?feed=121849&article=2296919

Narron was also mentioned as the manager most likely to be fired on Yahoo sports yesterday.

I'm hoping for another double GM/Manager sacking  like the Bowden/Boone firing of a few years past.

2007 Reds Threat Level is Green

when you get rid of someone.....
you need to replace them with someone better.

The fact is we have a bad manager and a bad GM.

This team has talent, as shown by last nights butt whipping of the Mariners, but the fact remains that this team is going in the wrong direction and has one of the worst records in baseball.

This is a prestigeous, storied franchise that should not settle for mediocrity.

I realize I'm in the minority,
but I like Krivsky.  I could do without Narron, however,

David Weathers as manager?
Don't like the idea of pitchers managing.  I think the pitching coach should be Mario Soto, if he wants it.  I have no problem with Hume in the bullpen.  He also was the bullpen coach in the late 90's and the early part of this decade, when the Red's had one of the top bullpens in baseball.

I also like Krivksy.  He has made mistakes but he seems ok.  Give him a chance.  I say this alot on this blog, but constant GM turnover will do nothing.  Unless Walt Jocketty, Omar Minya (how cincinnati should have hired, if he would have came, in 2004), or John Scherholtz all the sudden have to come to Cincinnati, that would be one thing, butI think Krivsky is ok.

Menace as GM?
Hells no. That guy is managing his RR fantasy team into the ground. The Beer League might be a different story, but that was a lucky draft... and I'm going to catch him. Right on your heels, buddy. Watch out.
Think lucky and if that doesn't work, blame it on the rookies. - Jerry Narron's philosophy on baseball

Sounds like sour grapes to me...
Would you be interested in a radio play by play job ? Man Mountain could provide the color commentary, as well the literary and film commentary. On second thought you guys may be way to positive in your Reds outlook. Best to confer with Mr. Menace on this.
Reds Billy Hatcher set a World Series record w/ 7 consecutive hits. Hatcher's .750 BA broke a mark for a four-game World Series by Babe Ruth (.625 in 1928).

Finally the respect I deserve
Well done Madville. You truly have the judgement of Solomon.

My first act as GM is to fire Dave Weathers as manager. I might do like the kid in that movie and tap myself to replace him.

Brilliant!
I should have thougth of that. I was thinking the team needs a 'baseball guy' w/ a sense of humor to pull it out of its funk. Not that you don't have an elevated sense of humor and the underlying irony necessary to exploit it. I enjoy Weathers when he's giving rabbit ears to some other player who's being interview, Castro provides 'comic relief', but as i mentioned before that is redundant w/ our present bullpen. I am beginning to think that Juan is Coach Narron's 'prison bitch' so he's out of contention. Therefore, after a careful review this post I am in complete agreement - Red Menace needs to fire Weathers and be both GM & Manager - Brilliant!
