Z's Weekly Report
I WAS WRONG! ADAM DUNN IS ON FIRE!!!
This is grreeattt for two reasons,
1.} is this THE TURNAROUND of Dunn, Where is beacomes the star player we all have wet dreams about?
2.} is the trade value sky rocketing because of his past week?
I say no to both
I debate myself everyday with the Adam Dunn trade talk, I never been so fired up on a subject that has to due with one player until this issue came about. We all know the story get rid of him, have some cash, get a good arm or arms in here, and maybe get a great reliever. Or would we could keep him and have 40HRs, 90-100RBI seasons and pay him 14 Million, both sound well...pretty good. It would make one think the Reds are in a Win-Win situation.
I think that is a fantasy, we are not getting Broxton or any decent reliever for him. I don't understand why the Dodgers will give up their best set up man while trying to win a tough NL West. So Fellow Reds Reporters you guys have won me over THE BEST TRADE IS NO TRADE.
I don't want to make this all about Dunn, my real post is this. I think this is the loss that summed up the season, Reds come back, Arroyo who has become the worst pitcher in the starting rotation all the sudden keeps giving up hit after hit, and the bullpen is well...the point is it is i'm sick of it. The team saying "We are better than this" "We don't get blown out, so thats an improvement" "We are going to turn it around" It's freakin June and you aren't.
So I'm asking you guys the following.
What Free Agent pitchers Starters or Relievers will be Free agents and the end of this year? Could the Reds get them, and would you like to see them here?
This is a question that Tracy Jones said Marty asked him so I ask you. If you could only have one of the two what would you take, A Good Starting staff or A Good Bullpen.
I'll take the starting staff everytime!
Ok I'm doing a Reds Who's Hot and Not thing now
WHO'S HOT!
1.} ADAM "THE BEAST DUNN
Ofcourse right after I agrue why I would take Jeter over Dunn in a "clutch" situation he has his best week of the season {10-25, .400AVG, 2HR, 5 RBI, 4R and an off the chart .720 SLG} That was coming into todays game as well Which he only added on to all of that. He also made a great Running Catch in Saturdays game. RBI Singles, Meaningful HRs! He was my Man Crush this week
2.} Hatty
Had a great week coming into todays game {10-22, .455AVG .540 OBP, 1HR and 3RBI} He might not be a "true leadoff hitter" but damn he gets on base and makes the pitcher throw pitches. The best week by a reds leadoff man this season by far.
3.} Aarron Harang
Even if he was shaky Saturday {2GS, 12.2IP, 3ER, 1-0, 1.42ERA} Should not go unnoticed. He is getting run support but still I think People undervalue this stud. He is the only pitcher this whole staff has that reds fans can count on for a solid preformance
Honarble Metion: David Ross, Ken Griffey Jr
WHO"S NOT!
1.} "THE MAGIC MAN"
I think my friend Ty said it best{and told me to metion it to my blog buddies}...he blows more than Parris Hilton :l
2.} NOT HAVING SS BRENDAN HARRIS!
wtf did we get for giving up this guy? I mean he is just hitting .313 has 7 HRs and 31 RBIs and has made 7 errors for the happenless D-rays. Nothing against a more expensive and older Gonzo, but Krisky is looking even dumber with giving up on him
3.} ALAN CUTTLER AND DUNN HECKLERs
Cuttler{who is not "clutch"} who said two days ago on his show that Adam Dunn is a reason why the Reds suck and he wanted him to be traded last year might be looking at Dunn being the NL Player of the week if he has a solid series against the A's. Dunn Hecklers who booed him earlier this week must feel pretty crappy. The only thing I could think that they could use as material for why he is Public Enemy No.1 for Reds Fans is "He Struck out to end the game on Thursday!...even if he went 3 for 5"
Honorable Metion: Juan Castro, Bronson Arroyo
Thanks for reading! :}

Dunn
The problem with Adam Dunn is not Adam Dunn, the problem is unrealistic expectations. We all want him to hit like Albert Pujols, and if you expect that, then he'll disappoint you. If you expect him to hit like Adam Dunn, then you'll begin to appreciate him a whole lot more for what he does, and not hate him for what he does not.
