Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Hamilton Day to Day

From C. Trent:

At approximately 5:45 this morning Reds OF Josh Hamilton was taken by ambulance to Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, where he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis, a general term referring to the inflammation or infection of the gastrointestinal tract.

He has returned to the team hotel, where he is resting. He is day-to-day.

Too bad. Besides there being a LH pitcher, I guess that explains part of the reason he didn't play yesterday. Hopefully its just one of those things that just sounds serious that he can recover quickly from.

I read that as...
..."Hamilton Day Today."

Jeez, didn't he have a similar problem at the beginning of the season?  What the heck is he eating?

I'm sure he'll be back soon enough.  "Gastroenteritis" is doctor-speak for stomach flu.

Yeah, not so serious
Gastroenteritis is a general term referring to inflammation or infection of the gastrointestinal tract, primarily the stomach and intestines.[1] It can be caused by infection with bacteria, viruses, or other parasites, or less commonly reactions to new foods or medications. It often involves stomach pain (sometimes to the point of crippling), diarrhea and/or vomiting, with noninflammatory infection of the upper small bowel, or inflammatory infections of the colon.

It usually is of acute onset, normally lasting fewer than 10 days and self-limiting. Sometimes it is referred to simply as 'gastro'. It is often called the stomach flu or gastric flu even though it is not related to influenza.

Sounds similar....
Isn't this the same thing that Griffey had earlier in the season?

Rotoworld insinuated that it may have been drugs
but they said they will give him the benifit of the doubt.

I kinda want to punch rotoworld in the face.

Agreed
Fuck off, Rotoworld.  Have you ever eaten in Cleveland?  It's enough to screw up anybody's tummy.

Yeah
Years ago during an interview process I was taken out to lunch on the banks of the Cayuhoga R. The river was red. I didn't take the job offer.
